I have a actual packet 3 & 4 that the U.S. Embassy sends to fiancé(e) in Colombia. If you want them send me a private message (PM) with your e-mail address with some room in the inbox because each packet is about 3 to 4 MB. The packets are in Adobe Acrobat .pdf file.

Thanks for all the Colombia info Peter in Miami. My k-3 application was approved and sent to Bogota on August 11. I am not sure if I should just go ahead and wait for the embassy to send the packet 3 to my wife instead of using the shortcut you mentioned. I don't want to mess up the process. Do you know approximately how long it takes them to send out the packets? I've heard Colombia's mail system can be unrealiable at times.

Peter, I also just wanted to verify also that the only police certificate my Colombian wife is required to get is the DAS certificate saying she has no arrests/warrants/etc. Is this correct? Thanks.

Hi SilkRoad,

If I were you I would track the package through DHL.com and make sure the package is there. If it is there and it should, I would have you fax the OF-169, DS-2001, DS-230 part 1, and a copy of your spouse passport. If the U.S. Embassy get packet #3 before the cut-off date (varies from month to month 16th to the 20th) then you get the interview the following month. If not by the cut-off date you get the interview the month after that. I and many other VJ members have done it and it works. I was able to get my fiancée to the U.S. in two to three months quicker that other people going through the U.S. Embassy in Bogota at the same time.

I sent you packet 3 & 4. Is your spouse from Colombia? The reason I ask is because in your timeline you have Armenia as the Consulate office, the only Consulate / Embassy office is in Bogota. My wife is from Armenia, Colombia so I was wondering if your spouse is from Armenia also.

I sent you packet# 3 & 4. Remember that these packets are from the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. Some forms vary from Embassy to Embassy and other forms are the same, make sure your read the website for your wife’s U.S. Embassy.
