I have a direct email to one of the Consulate Agents. If it is urgent and you have not heard from, so what I did, contact your state senator and they will help you out. Mine did, he sent a message to the COnsulate on April 9 and APril 10 the Consulate had his file completed and mailed by UPS.

Took out first half@state.gov

A major word of caution here... Talk about one way to agitate them!

I have a few direct emails myself from this embassy - that differ than the one posted here. I was specifically asked by the agents at the embassy to NOT share these for security purposes, amongst other things - most likely a flood of emails that should be going through the general queue... which in turn very well could help cause the delays we all complain about with the Algiers embassy.

They have a general email for a reason and using direct emails may work for you, and/or it may just make them not very happy. I didn't take that chance when I suffered with the general queue myself for almost three months. But that is just me. I don't take chances on something so important.

Wow, they did reply- and I only emailed them last Wednesday, so that was super-quick (albeit it was a very simple request to just confirm that they received the documents we submitted). So, now it is a matter of more waiting for them to review it and to see what they will ultimately decide.

Yes it seems random. I sent one email that stayed 1 wk with no response and I sent another and they replied the day after! :-)

Interview on 4/23, hope the visa will be granted quick...

For those going through processing in Algiers, has anyone communicated with the embassy through their IV-DV email address? I recall before it used to be just the one email address for all visa inquiries, ConsularAlgiers, and always generated an auto-reply (preceeding several weeks of waiting for an actual reply).

I just sent my last email to the IV unit one and didn't get an auto-reply message-- just wondering if anyone here gets real-person replies from that IV-DV address?

Hi Carrie!

Am I missing out on something? What email address would that be? I keep on sending emails to the ConnsularAlgiers but as always a month delay or no response!! Here in Tunisia till May 14th!!!!! (L)
