I-864 help please

Hi, folks. Sorry to be a bother but I'm horribly afraid I've screwed things up. Saylin gave an answer in another thread (she wasn't sure) but I was interested in other people's experiences.

I was going to file an I-864EZ for my affidavit of support, because I am using only my wages to satisfy the requirement. I looked at the instructions and the checklist for the I-856EZ. They said to include the bar-coded cover sheet, the I-864EZ, and the three years of tax proof. So I gathered all that together and made a packet out of it. However, my taxes were sort of complex last year and I reconsidered and thought I should use the I-864 instead. So I put in the I-864 and took out the I-864EZ, and went to the post office and sent everything off.

When I got back, I was reading here on the forum about how some people needed to send pay stubs and employer letters with their affidavits. Oh, #######, I said. I looked at the checklist for the I-864EZ and it did not say anything about pay stubs or an employer letter, but the I-864 checklist did request them. Ugh.

Now, I supplied the full deal for 2012, that is all of 6 weeks old. I also supplied the transcripts for 2011, 2010, and 2009 (in case they need it). Am I in trouble? Do you think they will ask for the pay stubs and employer letter?

What do you think?

I think I'm an idiot.

Well the problem is there's nothing to show current employment or wages. That's what they really want to see. So two things will happen.

1. You will be checklist for current paystub and Letter of employment

or

2. You will be checklist and case complete and the paystub and Letter of employment will be on your checklist to bring to interview.

Even if you taxes were complicated you probably should have went with the EZ form. We did and I'm glad. But we also sent 6 months worth of bi-weekly pay stubs (that show current wage and yearly salary on each) but no employment letter. I figured with the wage and salary on the pay stub, why bother!

If you want you can add a bar code cover sheet, a typed cover letter and send in the information now instead of waiting for a checklist.
