Hi everyone,

My wife and I will be traveling to Europe while my wife's I-751 is pending. We filed in December so I expect to get an approval in July or so.

We'll be traveling for three weeks and we have the extension letter so we should be good. I wanted to know if you guys had any ideas to make sure nothing happens to our case while we're gone?

We thought about having a friend check our mail once a week to make sure we don't miss any notices. Any other recommendations?

I'm worried that we may miss a RFE or interview while we're out. Is it easy to reschedule?

Thanks!

I am the US citizen, my wife is the applicant.

Adjusting from J1 Trainee visa:

August 25th, 2010: Filed AOS package to USCIS

August 27th, 2010: Package received by USCIS

September 2nd, 2010: Received I797 for I-130, I-485, I-765

October 14th, 2010: Received biometrics appointment letter (will be on Nov 5th)

AOS interview will be on January 13th, 2011!

January 13th, 2011: Approved at the day of the interview

Next step, removal of conditions

RFE's are good for usually 90 days, don't worry about it if you're only gone for a couple weeks, you will have time to respond. I'm not sure how the interviews go but I think you could just call infopass, change the date and explain you're out of country.

We filed in June and didn't get our RFE until January, so I don't expect you'll hear anything in the time you're gone.

Don't worry too much, enjoy your trip! :)
