Vermont is currently processing October. California is not. If you are a Vermont filer you should see your NOA2 soon, if your California, then it could be a year between NOA1 and NOA2 unless there is a drastic change.

VSC "currently processing" 10/1?

If it's any consolation, CSC has been saying for the last 3-4 months that they are "currently processing 7/18."

I hope the information they gave you is true, I am also a 10/24 filer, however that completely cotradicts all info that we on this site have been able to formulate. Most here have it figured closer to 90 days for October filers assuming CSC starts moving again.

They key is the filing location. If you will notice, they are Vermont filers, whereas you are a California filer. Vermont is ahead of California for the moment. When I first filed, it was the other way around...

Hi all,

Just wanted to share. This was my first experience calling USCIS, I'm October 24th NOA1 at VSC so my 5 months have past now. She asked me how long has it been, I said more then 5mo now, more then the time line on your website, so she said "ok I will file a service request for you", then she asked what is the date on the NOA1, I said 10/24, and she goes "oh well its within our processing time, we are currently processing 10/1, wait about 23 day." There is nothing worst then waiting for something and not knowing, I can't even begin to describe it. At this point I don't know if I'm just venting or what.

Hello there!

If it helps as encouragement, we have been waiting since October 19th NOA1. We have called the USCIS several times as well and ours is as well within the processing times for some reason. What I am glad to hear is that they are already working October. We'll survive  Almost there!

On April 4, 2013, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I-129F petition to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Your petition/application is still pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition/application.

Well just called them again. Tier 1 rep just read to me the status from their website that I'm tired of seeing "Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)" blah blah blah, She actually asked me if I knew why my alien registration number was changed? I thought - REALLY???? You're asking ME????? I didn't say that :) Anyways this time asked to speak with a "tier 2" representative, and the guy tells me the same thing they told me 2 weeks ago, we're working on October 1st receipts, you petition is still within our processing time, nothing else. I'm just amazed!!!!

I think their system only updates every so often, so they read from the same script. I don't buy that they're working on Oct 1st, when many 16th and 17th have been approved. This process should be privatized where privet companies would compete with each other then we would get answers and the results that actually make sense.

Calling USCIS is just a huge waste of time. Talked to their tier1 and tier2 people and they just blabbed the same thing that the CSC is processing July 18th and to wait three more months.

so it takes two weeks to work on October 1st dates?? my patience is wearing sooooooooooooooooooooooooo thin!!!

They are likely just reading from the script. I would guess the October 1 date comes from the last update on the USCIS website. It was effective February 28, and the processing time was 5 months..... so October 1.
