EAD backdated till the 1st?

Not like it matters, our AOS was approved today and we should have our greencard in 2 weeks, but her EAD card showed up today.

I found it interesting we got the email yesterday say we were approved, when I went and looked at the USCIS site yesterday morning nothing, last night it showed approved on the 14, so the system took a day to update and email us.

Then today, 2 days after approval my wifes new shiny EAD showed up in the mailbox.

The approval letter says we were approved 11-14. The cards says valid 11-01-06 to 10-31-07.

Do they always back date them to the first of the month?

Not like it really matters.. AOS was approved today and we should have our GC in 2 weeks...

10-18 Sent 'Status Inquiry' snail mail about EAD/AP not online and not approved.

10-28 AP/EAD FINALLY show online... 106 days. Not complete!

10-28 AP/EAD/AOS touched.

10-31 AP/EAD/AOS touched

11-03 11-07 11-11 and 11-13 EAD touched.

11-15 Day 123 (Day 68 since the RFE) EAD approved 11-14 email! AP still waiting.

11-16 10 AM Aos approved, 2 weeks to the green card we hope!

11-16 2PM EAD card in the mail.

11-17 Email "Welcome letter"

11-20 Welcome letter in Mail

11-27 Another "Welcome" email dated 11-27, changed from 11-17

11-29-06 GC in Mail, Were done for 1.75 years!

they have an effective date same as the approval date (not the date in which it took to get the biometrics completed and results back). In our case it was nearly two months backdated. I nearly had a cow - approved and effective 12/27/05, but not delivered to us until 2/17/06.

Mine is the same. It was approved on the 6th but it's dated from Nov 1st 2006 to Oct 31, 2007.

Canadian on TN Status married to USC

07/18/06 - Forms (I-485, I-130, I-765) sent overnight to Chicago Lockbox

07/19/06 - Received Date

07/25/06 - Notice Date

07/26/06 - Cheques Cashed

07/31/06 - I-130, I-765 Added online (I-485 not online yet)

08/04/06 - Receive Appt. letter for FP/Bio

08/14/06 - FP/Bio taken / LUD on I-130, and I-765 / I-485 added online

08/18/06 - RFE sent for Tax Return stuff, which was already sent with application

08/25/06 - RFE received by me in mail

09/05/06 - RFE returned to USCIS

09/11/06 - RFE Received by USCIS

10/31/06 - InfoPass to check status on 485 and 765 - Apparently a push has been made on 765

11/06/06 - I-765 (EAD) Approved!

11/13/06 - Received EAD, Approval notice mailed for I-765?

11/20/06 - Receive Interview Letter

11/29/06 - TN Expired

01/04/07 - Interview! - APPROVED!!!!

01/22/07 - InfoPass Appt: Got I-551 stamp in passport

01/24/07 - I-485/I-130 Approval E-mails / Welcome notice sent

01/25/07 - Card ordered

01/29/07 - Received Welcome Notice/I-130 Approval

02/02/07 - Received 10 yr Green Card!!

The card is effective the day that it was adjudicated. There is a lag until it gets into the system.

If all they are waiting on is biometrics to produce the card, the card is still effective as of the date of adjudication.
