First of all, every one on this thread needs to stop freaking out. No disrespect, but I don't believe a damned thing I read here. So many rumors...talk of "black holes" and such, two year waiting times, etc., Everyone TAKE A CHILL PILL!! Believe only what you get directly from the USCIS and your congressman/senator's office and then wait. We're September 4 filers and so we're waiting like everyone else. It just kills me seeing these wild threads and rumors and then folks freaking out over hearsay and nonsense. Focus on the relationship, stay positive and guess what? Good things will happen!

Although I agree with the need to not freak out, believing what you are told by government officials is not what I call sound advice. These people are mostly paper pushers who are paid to tell you everything except what you really need to know. The government isn't about transparency and what's best for you. Give up that pipe dream, and realize that we really can do nothing except follow the guidelines and regulations and hope for the best. Yes we can write congressman or senators and we can put in service requests, and I'm sure that does alleviate anxiety in some people, but when it comes right down to it, the only thing we can all do is wait and hope (pray) for the best.

Yeah, believing what you're being told by the USCIS is about the most naive thing you can do. If you keep that attitude, 10 years from now you'll be telling yourself not to worry and that you're certain your app is on its way to being approved.

I didn't suggest you believe everything you're being told by the USCIS. Obviously they're giving out stock bureaucratic ####### as well, but at least you know the source. Believing everything you read online is even more idiotic! I've contacted my congressional representative and both US Senators. I hope the wait isn't ten years, but sitting around bitching and whining about the big bad USCIS isn't going to help you either. I guess it's good to therapy to vent on internet forums. Just consider the sources and try to relax. Easier said than done, I know.

You certainly have to consider the reliability of the information. But it helps to have info other than supplied by the government and be proactive on the case. I was being assured that my own green card was on its way to being approved. This was in the 90s before I was a US citizen and we still did fingerprints on paper cards. They ended up losing my prints 3 times. I was fingerprinted for the fourth time on my AOS interview. Government bureaucracy covers its own A$$ and seeks the least amount of responsibility, esp. when it's an agency dealing mostly with people who don't have a right to vote for those who appoint them.

If you look through the K-1 timelines of those approved quickly for NOA2 recently, NONE of them from Oct./Nov./Dec. that have been approved already received any RFEs. But, those from recent NOA2 approvals from July, August, almost All of them had a RFE along the way... Therefore, it appears that they are putting through cases that have no issues regardless of dates and it's taking longer for those which likely need more review. It really seems to come down to how well your petition was put together and if you frondloaded it or just sent in the minimum. I frontloaded ours extensively so, I hope to have no RFE and be put through quickly although, ours is at VSC. Good luck to you all and I hope you get your NOA2 soon.

Could you please stop posting your incorrect, victim-blaming "research" that is both poorly reasoned and not backed up by facts? It only adds frustration to those of us who are already frustrated, and it suggests the reason for our delays is because we've done something wrong with our petition. Moreover, what "evidence" there is for your theory is just as easily explained by the fact that in March, CSC slowed down its adjudications of fresh July-August petitions, therefore approving a higher ratio of petitions with prior RFEs.

Firstly, “victim blaming”… really? Never said that, and no one is a victim here. Secondly, I can post my opinions and theories as you can since no one really knows the “facts” of what is going on at USCIS… unless, you have an “In” with them and if that were so, then you’d likely be through already since, your guy is from Canada a low-fraud country and all (just saying).. lol. I have nothing to prove here, this is all too much. Just be happy for those who got there NOA2, wish them well and hope/pray that you are not far behind. Complaining or commiserating is not productive. I wish you and everyone good luck… put the bitterness and whining aside and look forward to the future. Be blessed.

But you are proving that you have no idea what you are talking about, and you are doing so in a rather irritating way by (1) spreading misinformation and (2) tacitly insulting July and aug filers who are still waiting by implying their waits are because of errors in their files. This is baseless garbage that is not backed up by the VJ data at all. Saying it once or twice is perhaps an understandable mistake, but you have to be pretty daft and classless to keep repeating it over and over.

And, yes, those who are unduly delayed in reuniting with their loved ones due to the incompetence, dishonesty, and twisted priorities of the USCIS are victims in any sense of the word.

This is what I have been saying. It's juggling figures to look good. I don't see anything happening for july/august filers for another 6 weeks or more.

No.. I call my friend working inside immgration and said all july and aug filer more likely 2 or 3months more as of today .,,,9 months here and still waiting..
