Hello,

We are November filers. My wife and I filed for I-130 late in November 2012, and we received our NOA 1 a couple of days later- and since then have been in the land of "initial review". NOA 1 seem to be from NBC office. Reading some stories on these forums, we find that many that had filed a couple of months after we did, have already been approved. wonder how cases are organised.

No rhyme or reason to it.. that being said being that you are close to your five month mark, a call to USCIS to check on the status and see if it was transferred to a local office could be in order.. but that is up to you.

I have read several threads where there were decisions or rfe's on a file but it was not recieved. They only found out after a call.

Are you studying the monthly filing thread for November 2012, over at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/397676-november-i-130-filers/ ?? You really should, you know.

Coupla things in the decision tree:

1. casefile get to a local office or no?

2. local office in Atlanta or Chicago ? Yer in for a wait.

So, please go join in over at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/397676-november-i-130-filers/ and read all of it, paying particular attention to local office movement, and which local offices have been fast vs slow.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

05/10/2013 - NOA2 - Newark NJ

05/13/2013 - NVC Received.
05/30/2013 - Case & IIN # Received.
05/30/2013 - DS3032 & E-mail sent to remove Attorney and appoint petitioner as choice of Agent.
05/30/2013 - NVC accepted request and stated that further communication will now directed to petitioner.
06/04/2013 - AOS & IV bill e-mail received, generated and paid.
06/05/2013 - AOS & IV status paid.
06/05/2013 - AOS package sent
06/12/2013 - IV package sent
06/25/2013 - AOS Accepted
07/03/2013 - IV accepted
07/03/2013 - Case Complete
07/30/2013 - Interview Date received

If the field office of the lawyer, it would be Atlanta- what the field office for Alabama would be, I am honestly not sure.

thank you so much for the advice Darnell. I am having a hard time tryingto figure out this site and all of these different pages I guess :)

No office in Alabama, you have to go to -> 2150 Parklake Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30345.

Please update your timeline.
