Newborn and tourist visa

Hello all,

Looking for answers for a niece. She and her family ( 3 kids) were issued multiple entry visa last year. They all visited in Nov and went back to Nigeria. She put to bed in February and wants to make another trip during the summer which will now include the baby. She does not know how the visa situation applies to her newborn. She was thinking of making an appointment for the newborn for interview and that sounded weird to me so I decided to throw the question out here in case anyone has a information relating to her situation.

I think she means she was put on bed rest. I know the baby will need a passport to travel, I really don't know about newborns and visas but it would probably be a requirement.

oh OK, there was nothing said about being pregnant, just that there was a baby. You are good at reading between the lines because there is nothing in this post that would lead me to guess that!!!

so sorry. Was on the phone with her while I was typing. Its a slang we use when I was younger to say someone just gave birth.

yes that passport part, she is aware of . Its just knowing if the newborn will be required to have a new tourist visa application and subsequently interview when her parents already have visas.

I already asked her to email the embassy but she wanted to see if anyone had knowledge of the procdures first.

I believe that she needs the visa for tracking of entry. I do not think she needs a formal interview ( but if she does she shouldn't have any trouble )

For Philippines, even if the parents already have B2 visas they still have to apply B2 visas for their children. The parent/s apply in behalf of their minor children. The child and the parent/s must be present at the interview.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email. Applicants for U.S. visas irrespective of age are required to appear in person for a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate. You will need to obtain an international passport for your new baby, fill out a DS-160 online visa application form on his/her behalf, pay visa fee at any branch of GTB and schedule an appointment for the interview. Please note that both parent cannot attend interview with the baby.
