Dont twist the fact - you are known to do it but don't do it.

Guy was not drunk nor was he showing the weapon to kid.

His only mistake he had a round chambered but thats how all the official of law-enforcement are trained -to keep a round in chamber all the time.

Sorry, this is a hunk of you know what. You never show a weapon off to relatives with a live round in it. You ALWAYS clear the weapon, remove the clip(if applicable), make sure there isn't any ammo in the chamber. Folks that aren't law enforcement know this as the one rule you never break when you are showing a gun around. I've been to a few houses and when the owners break out their gun collection, that's the first thing they do before they even let you get within arm's reach of them. He left an armed weapon in a place a 4 year old could get his hands on and that mistake cost someone their life.

we do not know the exact sequence of the event, maybe he did clear the round when he showed to the whoever he was showing and when he was ready to put it back he chamered the round and left it on the bed.

Only thing I was poingting out was law enforcement officials are trained to have the round in the chamber all the time. Lot of other CCW folks or ppl who keep the gun at home do not follow this same procedure.

From article it seems kid was not in the room when he was showing the weapon.
