You know what anti-gun anti-constitutionalist parents do to their kids when their children are in utero?

They play Mozart!

Yes, you read that right. They play Mozart.

When has listening to Mozart ever taught any kid how to beat off a hungry old man trying to grab his plate of caviar at the airport lounge?

The answer is never.

you got it all wrong. i don't even own any mozart. i played Cradle of Filth in utero and ate raw buffalo placenta.

who in their right mind would teach a kid to beat off an old man?

Vital life lessons must start early. Learn to read, learn to count, learn to protect what's yours. If that annoying kid in daycare tries to take your ball (which is yours because you've been holding it for 10 seconds), deliver justice with the palm of your hands. Life skills.

If the 4 year old boy was trained how to use guns at an early age, this never would've happened.

That would abridge his right to bear arms. It is not stipulated in the USC anyone must learn how to use a gun. Such initiative must therefore be considered positively unpatriotic and unMurkahn in concept.

So who's the latest sock puppet?

Someone took that title away from me, it would appear. rofl.gif

Not yet, but that is always where the anti-constitutionalists go if their conversation is allowed to proceed unhindered.

I can only speak for myself but I would love to get guns out of the hands of criminals, mentally disturbed, and those who kill because someone was playing loud music in their cars, or walking home from the store, or rolling down a window to say sorry.

I understand your impulse, but I hope you understand that once you begin the actual exercise of identifying individuals who "might kill someone for rolling down a window", you are going to (because you are human and do not have the benefit of prescience) end up limiting the rights of many Americans who did not deserve it.

For this reason, your impulse is dangerous and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

The issue is that you can't legislate common sense and there are no legal grounds upon which to charge someone with aggravated stupidity, which clearly is the case of this deputy.

No, but as I have said before, a psyce evaluation might have prevented some people from obtaining weapons. Case in point:

Jimmy Lee Dykes: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/02/06/alabama-hostage-standoff-jimmy-lee-dykes-seized-boy-to-gain-attention.html

At the same time, other agents were assembling a profile of Dykes. They learned he had patrolled the perimeter of his property at night with a gun and a flashlight as if anybody would bother trespassing.

“Nobody paid him any mind,” the source says.

He had beaten a neighbor’s dog to death with an iron pipe because it strayed onto his land. He had built his own speed bump on the road to keep people from driving too fast. He had previously resided in Florida, where he had been arrested for brandishing a gun. All of it seemed to add up to one desire that had reached its ultimate expression in this standoff and that the source summarizes as, “Hey, notice me! I’m in control. I’m the boss!” There was an issue here, why was this man allowed to have a gun?

George Zimmerman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Trayvon_Martin

In 2005, Zimmerman was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, after shoving an officer while a friend of Zimmerman's was being questioned about underage drinking. The charges were reduced, then dropped when Zimmerman entered a pre-trial diversion program. Also in 2005, Zimmerman's ex-fiance filed a restraining order against him, alleging domestic violence. Zimmerman requested a reciprocal restraining order. Both orders were granted. The incidents were raised by prosecutors at Zimmerman's initial bond hearing. The judge described the incidents as "run of the mill" and "somewhat mild" and rejected the prosecution's claim that the incidents showed that Zimmerman was violent or a threat to the community. But he had no problems getting a gun and becoming the neighborhood watch.

Michael Dunn: http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/local/article/307917/3/In-his-own-words-man-charged-with-Jordan-Davis-murder-explains-why-he-opened-fire

"I saw a barrel come up on the window, like a single shot shotgun where there is a barrel. I didn't see this part of the barrel I saw that part of the barrel. It was either a barrel or a stick, but sir they're like we are going to kill you and then they said you are dead (expletive)," explained Dunn.

That's when Dunn said he reached into his glove box, pulled out his gun and fired four times from inside his car.

"Quicker than a flash I had a round chambered in it and I shot.," said Dunn.

Dunn said he then got out of his car and fired four more shots as the SUV was driving away.

"I'm at a loss to justify what I did on the second volley other than to say I thought they were going to be shooting back and I was keeping them from doing that," said Dunn.

He was scared for his life, so he got out of the car and kept shooting at the vehicle that was fleeing the scene.

I fathom that gun rights are more important that the lives that might be saved if we were a bit more careful.

Preventing people from obtaining weapons is your stated goal, which betrays the contempt you have for the Constitution.

And your blind devotion to owning weapons shows you vaule a weapon over someone's life.

I value the rights of all over the fear of some.

So you think people who have mental disturbances should be allowed firearms?
