My first time at this forum, I hope to find out a way or a light at end of tunnel.

My mom is US citizen and I applied to my green card on May 2006 throught I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

I was at that time over 21 years old.

On June 2010, my notice I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was processed and mailed to my address.

I didn´t pay yet my affidavit of support cause wasn´t the curret time yet, but its near.

Now the current date to family-sponsored F1 is 08MAR06 (my is MAY06).

My question is: How many time do I need to wait after the date reaches current date?

After pay wich is the next step?

Thanks in advance

You would be current very soon. Hopefully, in June or July this year. This is my wild guess only. By the way, May Visa Bulletin should be released today (10th April US Calendar). Please watch out.

One suggestion to your question regarding next steps, check with your lawyer. :)

Thank you very much OLI.

But what about the time between I become current date and get the green card? And go?

Hi Haljbr, hope you had seen my reply posted yesterday in another forum "F1 completed and waiting....".

I want to make one correction towards my reply. When you become current, you should be expecting to sit for an interview the same month the Visa Bulletin announcement or the following month. You should be receiving a visa stamp on your passport in a few working days if your interview is a success. Actual time depends on individual embassy. I guess the maximum is 21 working days. With the visa, you can choose to land US immediately or within 6 months or so. The actual green card should be with you in a couple of months or so after you enter the US soil. Good luck to you! By the way, let us start chatting in the "F1 completed and waiting..." forum. People there are friendly and helpful.
