Hello everybody,

My husband and I filed for lifting conditions on last May. I needed to stay abroad for a while and needed to reschedule my biometrics appointment two times. I finally got my biometrics done on August 25th. After that I have not heard anything about my case. It looks like a considerable number of people that had the bimetrics appointment after me have already received a decision.

I had a infopass appointment and was told I should just wait.

Do you guys thinks I should be worried about it?

I would appreciate any feedbacks

Vivian

I forgot to say that my main concern is that my husband will going to move on June. Would a change of address affect the process?

Any comments appreciated

your first greencard has a date on it on or around 2010-07-15 -

so if you are eligible , why not file for USCitizenship in the 90 day window prior to 2013-07-15 ??

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thank you for the sugestion. I stayed a lot of months outside of US in the last two years because finishing my doctoral thesis. I am affraid that will give me some trouble. That is why I thougt it would be better wait a little longer before file for citizenship.

Let me try again. I realized I was not clear at all when I was trying to explain my concern.

My husband and I are going to move soon to another city. He may need to go first. I was wondering if change our address will delay even more the processo.

Also, I am affraid the delay on my process means we are going to be called to a interview. In this case, it will be really hard for my husband to travel since he is starting his medical residency.

Let me just put it this way ... if we were at the 11 month mark after filing ROC and I hadn't heard anything, I would be worried and calling, making info pass appointment, whatever it took to get it done.

Best of luck!

It's late, that could be because of the rescheduling of the biometrics twice or something else. If I were you to speed up the process a little, I would call my congressman, senate and tell them about my situation and ask them for help. They have a big role in that, you might even get approved a week after calling them (I've seen some people like that). call them ASAP, and call the 1800 number and request a service request because your application is way late. Good luck.

As I understand it, there is a large backlog at the CSC and VSC, and pretty much no ROC's are getting processed since August 2012. I'm pretty confident that this has to do with a huge influx of cases from the deferred action program. Where did you hear that ROC's are getting approved?

Here are my sources:

Visa journey timeline

CSC Timline

VSC Timeline

I know its frustrating, but the good news is that it is nothing personal- the ROC's are all waiting at the bottom of the pile. And at least at his stage in the immigration process, you both can be in the US together, working and building a life together.

As for moving, within 10 days of moving make sure that you file an AR-11 and the USC files an I-865. Since you have a pending case, there is an extra step you can do online or by calling in. Here the information on that at this link.

OK - back to the OP -

when you call into USCIS, get a Tier 2 Human, an ISO,

and ask specifically:

1. do you have any returned postal mail pieces on me? (if yes)

2. go over the address with the Tier 2 human, giving over the correct address (and then)

3. ask for the returned postal mail pieces to be sent to you at the address given over in #2.

Sure, it may be that you don't have any returned mail pieces, but it you do?

That's a sure-fire way to learn about it (that telephone call).

Good Luck !

I am in the same situation as you. I filed mine on June 25th 2012 and had my fingerprints done on mid July 2012. Since then my application has been on initial review according to the case status updates. Two weeks ago I changed my address and I called them to make sure they have my new address. Regarding my application being beyond the processing time, after I had made 5 phone calls to USCIS my case is currently being adjudicated and I should get a response by the end of this week according to the letter they sent me.If I don't get a response by next week I will ask my congressman to help.
