Hello all, question with the k1 visa should I be accompanying my fianceto the states. Its a long trip for her and it can get expensive. My ticket going to manila would be the equivalent of both of us traveling back to the states. I understand my name is on her visa, but don't quite know what that means. Could anyone share the light on the subject. Thanks members

Travel with her or not its your choice, there is no requirement of you traveling with her. Your name being on her visa means you petitioned for her nothing more.

if i were u just keep the money in rainy days. my ONLY suggestion just get her a direct flight from manila to her final destination. so that she doesn't have to transfer flights.

it will save u money

that's most of the member did here!!!

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

You might want to look into getting her a cell phone that will work internationally but mainly in the US as pay phones are becoming scarce and expensive. That way she can get in touch with you while waiting and if there are any problems. I know I was worried when my wife travelled on her K-1 visa, but that is why we paid a bit more for a 1-stop flight rather than 2 or more stops. Her POE was her final destination. I would take the money you would have spent on you travelling to get her the most direct flight possible even if it costs a bit more--IMHO this is not the time to pinch pennies.

Good luck,

Dave

Thank all whom responded. It really put my mind at ease to know I'm not alone. As for the phone that was done two years ago. I bought her a phone and had it unlocked before I sent it to her. We talk every day.....I think that's very important. The POE now that's a thought....well back to the ticket search. Thanks again VJ members. We're a family within itself.
