Possible RFE, missing ONE page...

Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question but I want to throw it out there anyway.

My wife and I filed her AOS papers early March and we received the acceptance letters saying that they've been received and are in process. I was pretty meticulous about putting together our packet list but it seems I misunderstood one section... The vaccination/medical exam section. I didn't realize that I needed to partially fill out the I-693 form and send her vaccination records with it. Instead, I only sent in the vaccination records thinking that since she already had her medical exam she didn't need form I-693.

Question: Is this going to cause them to reject my application or just send an RFE? If so, thoughts on now much more time that will add? We're concerted about her getting her working authorization as soon as possible more than we are about the greencard.

Any information you could provide would be great.

Since her medical is less then a year old and she is adjusting from a K1 you should be okay. The EAD/AP combo card is usually issued fairly quickly. The medical/vaccination from the panel doc should have been in the envelope(the one issued by the consulate) that she gave USCIS when she came in and activated her K1 Visa. From my understanding, that envelope is then routed to USCIS once it has been received at POE.

USICS should have it in their file.

I know some people here who did not get RFE by submitting the vaccination worksheet from st. Lukes alone. BUT some did get RFE. So mostly here just go to civil surgeon and pay for the I-693 just to be sure they dont get RFE.

I read some posts here saying they got RFE because they did not go to civil surgeon to update their vaccination records, and not getting the flue shot. Some says you need the flue shot if you submitted the AOS during flu season. So if the vaccination record did not include flu vaccine since it's not flu season in the philippines when they had their medical exam, but you submit your AOS petition during flu season here in USA, they usually ask for I-693 with flu vaccine given on the record.

If your form from the medical said 'vaccinations complete' you might be OK. If it says 'incomplete' then for sure you'll get an RFE. If it has the middle on checked 'may be eligable for blanket waver', then that's the gamble. Basically it means you were up to date at the 'time', but by now, she might have needed more shots, so it's hard to say.

We went ahead and hired a civil surgeon to fill out I-693 just to make sure we didn't have any issues.

She was in Canada when we processed her papers and it was during winter so she did get a flu shot. I copied and sent a copy of the vaccination forms from the doctor with his signature. I didn't get to see the form that was sent as part of our K1 packet, of course, so I can't say what kind of checkboxes were checked.

you can start looking for civil surgeon in your area who will not rip you off so you would have a list if ever you get the RFE. and it would be easy for you to complete the requested evidence.
