WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

remove the H1B visa cap of 65,000, especially for STEM companies, when the full year quota was filled in few days

"The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on April 5th 2013 that it would no longer accept applications for the H-1B visas for the fiscal year 2014 and has reached the visa cap of 65,000,"

President Obama should act now remove the cap for H1B for fiscal 2014, especially for companies hiring in the STEM fields. This is one of the common sense solutions to help US economy and has overwhelming bipartisan support.

John Feinblatt Chairman of the Partnership for a New American Economy has said yesterday regarding H1B quota "If we want to stay competitive and thrive in the global marketplace, we need to make sure that our immigration laws fit the needs of our economy. Sitting still risks the world passing us by,"

Most have been made no doubt by Indian outsourcing companies, ban those, problem solved.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Remove the cap? How about remove the visas all together? Do you know how many Americans can't find jobs in those fields due to the H-1Bs?

yes there is abuse by some companies... But look what Microsoft has to say..

A Microsoft executive said in a recent blog post that the company has 3,400 unfilled openings for high-tech workers.

"These open positions are a direct loss to the U.S economy today and risk forcing companies to look to base these positions in other countries — permanently removing them from the U.S. economy," wrote Brad Smith, general counsel and executive vice president for legal and corporate affairs.

Thats just for the article and talking to media... dont get your self high on those numbers by executives from various firms.

Whatever microsoft needs they are getting it done in their Hyd office.

If they really want to hire ppl there are tons and tons of qualified perm resident and citizens.

John Feinblatt can kiss my @ss.

Bringing in H1-B workers REMOVES most of the food chain for the american economy from the American worker.

Remove H1B altogether, so says I.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

The world is Flat...

America has lost the manufacturing to China and will loose innovation to Korea, China and India...

Why does IBM (most innovative company in terms of patents issued) have ~110,000 employees in USA, over 150k in India and over 150k in rest of the world? Recently a friend of mine completed PhD from Georgia Tech and was offered a job by IBM. He later found out that the job would be located in India with comparable salary.

This is not about cheap labor any more. Its about an environment for innovation. This is the hard truth... America has so much illegal and stupid immigration. H1B is not a problem... (though I have observed some misuse)

Need to look at the 11 Million illegal immigration that US allowed.

Need to look at 700k/year family based immigration when anybody can sponsor their brothers and sisters from abroad. Thats the problem..

Not the skilled STEM folks coming through H1B.

Dude if you think innovations are done in china and korea maybe you should apply for the visa there and not worry about H1B and H1B limits.
