I got my case number today.. Whats next?

Any idea how long i am gonna wait to pay the aos and iv bill

Timeline for my Mother

April 19, 2013 - submit the form I-130

April 22, 2013 - Receive the NOA1

July 29, 2013 - Approved NOA2 ( 82 working days)

July 30, 2013 - USCIS shipped my documents to NVC

Aug 5, 2013 - Arrived at NVC Building

Aug 13, 2013 - Got the NVC case # via PHONE

Aug 14, 2013 - Got the Invoice # via PHONE

Aug 15, 2013 - Send my DS-3032 via Email

Aug 16, 2013 - AOS Pay

Aug 17, 2013 - Got an email to print the COVER SHEET

Aug 21, 2013 - send the AOS overnight at NVC

Aug 28, 2013 - Accept the DS-3032

Aug 30, 2013 - IV BILL pay and Documents Sent to NVC receive the checklist AOS.

September 19, 2013 Sent back the checklist

September 20, 2013 Sept 26, arrived @ NVC

Sept 30,2013 - already encode to their system

ADVANCE MEDICAL @ St. Luke - SEPTEMBER 23, 2013

CASE COMPLETE AS OF TODAY : OCTOBER 23,2013

Sooo worried and dissapointed about the news of posible F2A retrogression in October. Even if my case is completed before September 30th, and they assign me an interview date, it's all up to the availability of visas by the day of my interview. I have just read that even you are approved in your interview, but there are no visas for that month of your interview because of retrogression, they will ask you to keep waiting 'till the PD becomes CURRENT.cray5ol.gif I hoped to travel to the USA with my husband by the end of this year. Now I just hope the PD doesn't retrogress too much. SOOOO FRUSTATING!!!

I just called NVC they said haven't received my file yet. My i 130 approved on August 6 2013 . How long its gonna take to get case number? Waiting waiting.

I got my approval since July 26 and nothing yet ... sad.png

How back do you think they will go?

at least 3 plus years because so many people will file in coming two months. it will be same like year 2007 when they made all current for EB category, then retrogress it for 5 years then move one week per month.

this is a disaster for FB2. congratulations for people who got lucky.

get ready for long wait like old days. 5 Plus years altogether . now just I 130 takes 12 -14 months in approval.

So will this retrogression affect you if you got your noa2 and is waiting on NVC...??

ofcource. they retrogress visa number not I 130. if you don't get Visa assigned before retrogression, it will affect you too.

I don't think it will be that bad - we were already around mid 2011 when it was progressing normally - so I think at best some time in late 2011 or early 2012 is my estimation

how bout what they said that the cut off is unlikely to have negative impact on those who have already initiated action on their case prior to the announcement of OCT cut off dates? what cud that mean? am i getting it right that those who will be CC prior to announcing the OCT VB (might be announce on sept 10) would not be affected with the cut off? meaning there wud still be visa available for them? pls enlighten me. thanks.

The last one date of cut off of visa bulletin was October 8 2011 ... I agree with you. yes.gifBut even I think so that the date will can reach farther. rolleyes.gif

A Note Regarding Visa Availability

The issuance of family sponsored and employment based preference visas is numerically limited by Congress. Interviews for applicants in these categories are scheduled when the applicant’s priority date becomes current and visa numbers are available. However, priority dates may change, and it is possible that at the time of the interview, visa numbers may no longer be available. If visa numbers are no longer available for your visa category, your interview will proceed as scheduled, but your visa not be issued until the priority date again becomes current and new numbers are available. Applicants should check the Visa Bulletin on the Department of State’s website for up to date information on priority dates for all immigrant visa categories.

its not just that - I saw online some people who had PD of summer of 2011 who had their interviews scheduled and approved, so that means at least if it goes back it will go back to June 2011 - which is not that bad - as long as it keeps moving up fast again like a month and a half each time.

Then again there is a remote remote remote possibility that October also remains current and November is when they have the cut off date - as you saw they said 'likely' so you never know.

The last one date of cut off of visa bulletin was October 8 ... I agree with you. yes.gif
