I just called NVC now and they gave me our case no. The lady said: you will get the necessary forms in couple of weeks. I got the case no after 9 working days once NVC received from USCIS. Feels good. Alhamdulillah

Thanks

Nasir

Does the joint sponsor have to cover the full poverty line requirement or just make up the shortfall of the main sponsor?

Just make up the shortfall of the main sponsor

Just make up the shortfall of the main sponsor

No, the joint sponsor's income must cover the full amount required for himself + his own household + the intending immigrant.

Joint Sponsor

A joint sponsor is someone who is willing to accept legal responsibility for supporting your family member with you. A joint sponsor must meet all the same requirements as you, except the joint sponsor does not need to be related to the immigrant. The joint sponsor (or the joint sponsor and his or her household) must reach the 125% income requirement alone. You cannot combine your income with that of a joint sponsor to meet the income requirement.
