Thank you shorty....i need to call again.

Did you receive your case number yet? My husband called the NVC yesterday, obviously nothing yet. I am wondering whether we should already start calling daily, or whether to give them another week or two. He was told that it takes 10-15 business days for the NVC to receive the documents from USCIS, and then another 5-10 business days for the NVC to enter the case into their systems.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

Hey,guys whats up? It funny most of ux here, transferred from vermont to nvc, ... Well lets keep helping us,here now jijiji

This is a fantastic thread and I am happy to see so many VSC thread members here. I just hope that n4th4ly4 can join us here soon.

I have a couple of questions:

1) I've seen in the guides that one should email the Choice of Agent as soon as one gets the case number from the NVC. Does this apply to F2A beneficiaries too or do we have to wait for the NVC to send it to us?

2) Is everyone here appointing the petitioner as agent? My husband travels a lot and I wonder if it were easier if I took care of everything.

Hi Athena

I still waiting for my case no. I m calling almost everyday and they are saying ...wait 10-20 business day to get the no. Any way, waiting patiently and preparing the documents for NVC.

I hope and pray- i will get something at the end of this week or next week. I will keep here updated.

wish you good luck and faster NVC process.

thx

Thanks Nasir! I've looked at other people's timelines and the time it takes to receive the case number seems rather random - some people get it after a week or so, others have to wait a month or longer. I suppose I will only get mine after you have received yours.

I am also collecting the documents for the NVC: ordered an excerpt from the Finnish population registry (our equivalent to a birth certificate) and the Finnish police report on Sunday, and I have an appointment tomorrow morning to submit a request for the German police report. I am still not quite sure what to do with DS-230 and the question regarding trips to the US. My first visit to the US was in 1992 and I must have visited the country at least 30 times since then. I have the dates for the past three years or so and can probably find out the dates for a few other trips from old photo albums, calendars, journals etc., but I don't think I will be able to get a fully complete and accurate list.

Good luck to you too, I hope you get your case number this week!

YES IT APPLIES TO FA2,As soon you get your case number, ask them for your invoice id number to make aos payment the next day....BUT MOST IMPORTANT REMEMBER TO GIVE YOUR EMAIL, AND YOUR HUSBAND EMAIL, AND ONCE YOU'VE DONE THAT, SEND THE DS3032 RIGHT AWAY FROM THE BENEFICIARY EMAIL.

2) Is everyone here appointing the petitioner as agent? My husband travels a lot and I wonder if it were easier if I took care of everything.

Yes, you should anyways, just get his email and do it everything your self.

Yay, I just made my first-ever call to the NVC and they have received our case. No case number yet, but this is a start.

Moreover, my husband had his citizenship interview today and he was approved. The oath will be in mid-June, and I hope we can complete our case at the NVC by then. Our PD is already close, but maybe we can save a month or two by upgrading our case to IR.
