Guys.. finally.. count me in!! idea9dv.gif

i have been reading and follow this thread hopefully i hv enough knowledge, but if not, i will ask you guys.. now i have to wait for NVC to generate my case number, probably around 1 or 2 weeks??

Welcome!

For us it took about a week from NOA2 for the NVC to receive our case, and then another two weeks before they generated the case number. I hope yours will be available faster. You can start calling the NVC next week to see if they have received your case.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

I think you are fine with sending a copy of your current passport but you could also post your question in this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/427843-nvc-filers-may-2013/

Maybe someone there can confirm it.

If you're already case completed at NVC now, and your PD is current or will become current, you can expect the interview letter next month (within first week of June).

If you don't get lucky, you have to wait for the month after next (probably July).

How could we know that case is completed with NVC? As per visa bulletin our PD is next in line, we just want to know what to do next so that we could prepare necessary documents..

not yet sis, just the approval letter and noa1... here's what happened. our petition was filed when we were still under 21 years old and my mom is still a green card holder, now we already aged out. we went to the embassy last week to inquire about CSPA and if we still qualify, the consul just told us to submitt a CENOMAR as soon as possible just as long as our priority date is not yet current.

we are on F1 visa category right now, since we are opting out due to CSPA we will go back to F2B visa category and our priority date is 29JAN03. with the current VB F2B is on 01NOV02.

thats why we wanna know what is the best thing to do just to make sure that it will be process smoothly.

So your category now is F1 (Unmarried Son/Daughter over 21 of USC)? You are filing opt out to be retained to the F2B category with a PD of JAN 29, 2003?

Your profile says F2A.

Okay, makes sense now. idea9dv.gif

To file for opt out, you (the beneficiary) need to submit a letter addressed to the USCIS U.S. Embassy Manila, stating your request to be retained to the F2B category. Attach a copy of your NOA2 approval notice from USCIS (Form i-797), a copy of your petitioner's Naturalization Certificate and your original latest CENOMAR.

On your letter, put the following info:

Petitioner's full name and date of birth

Priority Date and Case Number

Beneficiary's name and date of birth

That's what my husband did after his father (petitioner) naturalized in 2008. He was retained in the F2B category.

that was very helpful! what happened after he opted out? do we still need to make an actual request letter? because the consul gave as a form with the ff info on it (petitioner's full name and DOB PD etc..)
