Wow. 2 to 3 months? Looking at peoples signature, I thought this is more like 4 to 6 weeks max. Is it busier nowadays or is it because ours is paper based (except for ds 260) and others are electronic submission?

Hi. It's my first time to post in here. We just got our NOA2 last September 30, 2013. Upon calling NVC they received our case last Oct 15 . And we are still waiting for our new case numbers. I have been following this thread for two days and just finished reading from page 1 up to here. I learnt a lot of thing about the NVC process. But there are still some things that bugs me about the AOS thing. I hope somebody can help me. ?

So, our case goes like this:

Our Dad, who is in Guam, USA, filed a petition for us. My brother(F2B I believe because when the petition was filed he was already 21 yrs old and 9 months), sister(f2a), me(f2a), and my little sister(f2a).

April 29, 2012 - I-130

May 4, 2012 - NOA1 (PD)

September 30, 2013 - NOA2

October 15, 2013 - NVC received our case

Since we are four, we have four different case numbers. Going back to my question about the AOS, since we have four different cases does our dad need to pay the AOS Fee $88 x4 and also does he need to produce the AOS documents 4x in different mails as we will have different bar coded sheets? I'm also wondering how will be his form i-864 will look like? Thank you in advance :)

Thank you for the fast respone apple21.

With what you have said do you mean older brother wont have his NVC case number any time soon? I think I have read somewhere that his case will also be processed but will not get an interview date until his PD becomes current.

I know one case, it's from our far relatives petition, wherein even though their mothers case is not yet current, the US Embassy gave her visa during my cousins interview. We're hoping that this will happen in our case also. :)

Sorry for interruption...just want to share what we are experiencing. I have 2 f2a siblings who are at NVC stages, waiting for case completion and 4 f2b siblings who are waiting for further instruction. All of them have a pd of March 2012. They all got approved last June 2013 and arrived at NVC on August. Each of them got their own case number but only the ones with f2a category were able to continue the process because their pds are current. Our mom received an email for the other 4 who are at f2 b category saying that visas are not available for them at this time and wait for further instruction. We know that they'll be waiting for 10 more years. They might get contacted by NVC 1 year before their priority date becomes current to finish the NVC stage:)

So Nilo jayr as what apple1 mentioned only you with the f2a category will be able to continue the process while the f2b will need to wait and be single during that time.

Thank you apple21 and ivyvid for making things clear for me. Greatly appreciated thanks a lot guys. :)

I have one more thing to ask about the AOS. Does my dad have to send 3 different envelopes for the AOS ? Meaning does he have to produce i-864 with the supporting legal documents x3? :)

Yes, AOS x 3 because there are 3 separate persons being petitioned. He can mail it in one envelope but make sure they are properly segregated and identified (by the cover sheet) for each applicant.

20-30 business days.

Pay the fees, print the cover sheet, attach cover sheet to docs then mail to NVC.
