I have a question: I received the AOS acceptance email today. In the field "preference category" it says CR1. Does it say CR1 for everyone else too? I would have expected it to say "F2A" or "spouse of permanent resident".

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

I Dont get it, You are saying that they checked your AOS ALREADY, And they sent to you an email stating it? and on that email it says you are under CR1 Category?

It should say F2A because your husband is not a USC (as of now) and you have not upgraded your case (yet).

if you already emailed NVC with your husband's naturalization certification then they should change ur preference category to CR1.

Sorry, I shouldn't post anything late at night when I am half asleep! I meant acceptance of the Choice of Agent email, of course. I knew I'd get the forms mixed up at some point, I hate the fact that they are all referred to by numbers... But in the COA acceptance email it says that our category is CR1.

My husband sent the AOS package on Thursday, I doubt it has even reached the NVC yet.

He passed the interview, yes, but his oath ceremony is only next month. I had thought we'd still have to send his naturalisation certificate to the NVC to upgrade our case? I am just wondering if this is an error, or if he is effectively considered a USC after having passed the interview, and the case has already been automatically upgraded?

This is what we had thought too... I suppose we'd better mention it next time we call the NVC and see if this needs to be corrected. I hope this is not going to cause any additional hassle and delays, particularly since he will be a USC in less than a month.

But we didn't, he will only get the certificate after his oath ceremony in June. We'll call and see if it needs to get changed to F2A, although it seems a bit silly considering that in four weeks they have to change it again back to CR1.

05-07-1013 my hubby mailed NVC our DS-3032 Form (signed by me - the beneficiary).

05-10-3013 NVC recieved the form (according to the Postal Service Recept)

05-14-2013 - that's when NVC say they recieved the form. So they have it but haven't input it into the system yet.

05-20-2013 NVC sends me an email (with a cover sheet) inquiring to send them DS-3032 form.

I called them every day since we mailed DA-3032 form, they keep saying that they have it but I have to wait until they register it in the system.

Now they send me this weid email.

That's confusing and frustrating.

I'm going to call them today...

09/09/2009 met and had been happily dating for almost a year when my husband (bf at that time) won in a green card lottery. By that time he divorced from his ex-wife, and I graduated from the university and had obligatory job placement in Belarus for 2 years on.
11/19/2010 got married. In about a month he left for the US and applied for family reunification.
03/24/2011 Priority Date
04/08/2013 NOA2

06/14/2013 Case Completed
