Yeah isn't that frustrating...I submitted my siblings ds261 last sept 6 but I edited it to add their middle names on the 13th, it was moved to the 13th as the date of completion. That was a mistake on my side..oh well..like you guys until now we are still waiting for the iv fee which is holding us to send our iv documents....just so long now just to generate the iv fee... Praying that everyone will get their iv fees already :)

AOS is Affidavit of Support. You will have to download the current I-864 and i recommend you download directly from USCIS website. After you've paid the AOS fee you will have to print out a barcode sheet which you will place at the top of the below documents and send to NVC.

  • Cover letter
  • Form I-864 (Signed and dated). If more than one beneficiary make copies and attach
  • Copy of 1040 and W2. If you have IRS transcript that's fine.
  • Letter of employment
  • Pay stubs for past 6months

They will communicate via email.

Thank you so much- jewel4life...

Few questions I do have -

1) Do I require to add bank letter showing current balance in checking account?

2) I-864 I need to fill electronically and then print and do sign & date or I need to fill entire this form by simple ball pen?

3) cover letter = AOS barcode sheet?

4) I cant fill IV fees unless I submit AOS packet?

Please guide me very briefly so I can understand thoroughly as I am poor in documentation.oops8rh.gif

Thanks For your immediate reply to my first post, hoping again for the same.smile.png

1) Do I require to add bank letter showing current balance in checking account? You are not

2) I-864 I need to fill electronically and then print and do sign & date or I need to fill entire this form by simple ball pen? Anyhow it please you but i'm suggesting filling on computer and printing out will be fine. You can always save it and come back on your computer.

3) cover letter = AOS barcode sheet? No. Cover letter summarizes what the petition is all about and lists the documents you have in your envelope. Its not compulsory but it makes going through your document a lot easier for reviewer

4) I cant fill IV fees unless I submit AOS packet? No, until your DS-261 is accepted.

I am sorry to say that. But the chances of filling DS-260 before end of october are aint big.

My I-130 was approved in mid August. And I haven't reached the DS-260 (and IV) stage yet.

Only 2-4 weeks is the time between DS261 <> DS260

Put another 3-4 weeks between USCIS <> NVC

Hope everything is OK with your petition.

We all want to be together with our relatives.

Thank you for your reply, TexasStar and warm wishes. I know this waiting is terrible, and the whole system is messed up...DS 261 is the choice of agent, if I am correct. I thought that the most challenging part is to get your case number assigned, was I wrong? Do you fill out DS261 before you get your case number? All I care about is to get DS260 there while PD is current....:(
