Hi,

I am a permanent resident and I need to apply for removal of condition (form I-751). I would like to apply to waive the fee (my income is certainly low enough), but I am worried that this might negatively impact my status either now or in the future (like if I want to apply for citizenship). If there is a risk that this might happen I can bite the bullet and pay up just to be safe.

The answer to the question "will requesting a fee waiver affect my current immigration status?" in the instructions for form I-912 is vague and I would like to know if anyone has had issues as a consequence of applying for a fee waiver.

Thanks!
