Stay with me on this one it reads like a load of old waffle.....Ok, So when i came here, i came under my old name obviously. But then got married and now use my married name. My question is; How do i get my passport changed into my married name without going back to the UK and losing my stamp/visa. Not only am i still in FBI name check hole (16 mos and counting) but surely even if i went back and changed my PP then the visa would be in the old PP and I would have nothing in the new one? Given that it seems CIS do not go with obvious things like name change after marriage i do not want to confuse them any more than they already are.

Oh dear now i'm confused too.

You just need to download the passport form from the UK embassy website and send it off with your old passport and your marriage certificate to Washington DC.... your old passport will be returned to you along with your new passport in your new name... you do not need the visa's that are in your old passport any longer but you may want to keep your old passport for information....
