I disagree insofar as race is not a characteristic that can be objectively and consistently defined in a non-recursive manner (beyond a reliance on physical characteristics). (Put another way, there is no good way to prove what race a person is.)

I agree. Sexuality is a behavior, not an identity.

Yes, I realize that makes the parallel between the legal cases stronger. I, too, don't agree with the court decision that was outlined.

What this really comes down to is that many things are based on a societal standard that is somewhat arbitrary. Yes, you can point to certain health or societal risks that are associated with incest. Most practices, from sexuality to sports to eating steak, pose certain risks to individuals and society. But the line has to be drawn somewhere. Reasonable people agree that some practices are acceptable in spite of their risks, while others must be forbidden. The problem is that reasonable people don't always agree as to which are which.
