Update about my parents interview on May 2nd. USEM didn't ask for an updated I-864 Affidavit of Support documents. No other civil documents were asked either. The Consular Officer was very nice & only asked a few questions:

1. Name of the petitioner.

2. How many kids?

3. What is the job of the petitioner's husband?

4. When was the last time my parents have seen their daughter (me) in person.

5. Do they see their grandchildren on the internet/computer regularly. The CO jokingly asked are they cute? lol

When I sent the IV packets to NVC I included two certified copies of my marriage certificate. USEM handed one of it to my parents. Don't know why.

cool--- congrats...

Hello,

My Mom's interview will be on the 22nd of May, 6:30 AM. How long was the wait? How many hours did it take to complete the interview process? Have they receive their visa yet? How long did it take for their visa to arrive? My Mom lives in the Visayas area. Thanks!

1. I don't know how long they waited before they were let inside.

2. The interview by the consular officer was 5 mins i guess. They arrived in the USEM more than an hour before their 6:30 am appointment. They left the embassy close to 10 am.

3. Yes, they did.

4. 3 business/working days. Interview May 2nd & received their visas May 7th.

5. No, they didn't pay anything. Visa delivery is already included in the Visa payment that you paid during the NVC process. Immigration Fee you can pay anytime after your parents received the visas/visa packets.

Good luck for the interview!

Congrats let-it-be. In my case, I rescheduled my parents interview appointment online and in the instructions, they were asking for the ceac confirmation letter. I do not know if it applies to immigrant visas as well? or do the just have to disregard it?

Thanks Trin :D

This is the link: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ .

I basically just had my parents copy paste the "CEAC Case status" to a MS Word.

In the Appointment Confirmation letter (from the ustraveldocs.com/ph site) for my parents interview in US Embassy Manila, the instructions specified to bring the following:

1. Appointment Letter

2. Valid Passport

3. CEAC Confirmation Letter

4. 2" x 2" color photo in white background.

Do they need anything else? Do I have to send them an updated I-864 (Affidavit of Support) & supporting documents to bring for the interview? Hubby thinks it is completely unnecessary to have another I-864 considering the one I submitted will be forwarded to the said embassy together with the other paper works.

Hi! I am new here. I petition my parents too but my mother needs to do the culture test. I am torn between having my Dad go through with the interview separately just to get it all done and just have my Mom do her interview after she has been cleared by SLEC. DO you think that's a good move?
