Our K1 visa has been approved and the US Embassy in London has sent me the checklist of documents to gather. I'm just waiting on the police check to come through before I can send the checklist back to the embassy and get my appointment. I just wondered if anyone had had a police check from the uk for a k1 visa and how long it took. I've had the £10 fee taken from my account already but not received anything yet. Also wondered how long it takes from sending off the checklist of documents and being issued an appointment date, and if its worth send it off before i get the police check back to save time in the long run, because i'd really like to get out to spend christmas with my fiance. I had my medical exam last week. Also, what does the package 4 contain? If theres anyone that could help me out with any of these questions i would really really appreciate it.

Thanks very much

i think my police certificate took around 30 days or so, i forget. it is roughly the maximum time they state, be it 30 or 40 days.

the date after sending P4 back to the embassy varies too its at least a month. id say if you were extremely lucky you MIGHT get out before Xmas, but I wouldnt place money on it.

If i were you, I count on NOT getting out there prior to Xmas. If it happens, its a great surprise and you dont suffer the disappointment.

By my timeline, we filed for the K1 LAST YEAR at the end of Nov, and had it all competed in 4 months, which was pretty quick.

Most UK certificates took 40 days or very close to it.

And interviews currently seem to around 8-12 weeks from NOA2 - interview. Some are longer. Do a timeline search to check yourself.
