Hello,

So I have noticed that CSC is moving slowly, but that it is at least "starting" to process cases regularly. However, my question is what does USCIS get out of not updating the current processing times to the times that they are actually processing? Are they not updating it because they are approving things from various dates, and they don't want it to seem haphazard? Or, is it that until they complete every single visa from July they won't change the date (even though they are processing some from after that)?

Likely a combination of all of your listed possibilities.

Updateing,.....Hell!!!! I just wish they would do something at CSC(((( They might not be updateing, because they are doing nothing to report!!! I really really dont understand what is going on at CSC. When I call them, I get no answers to any questions. They stonewall me((( It's like talking to a broken record((( Their is no way I am aware, of to get around their lack of effort. I have written Senators and Congressman even, and got no response. CSC seems to answer to no one. No one I am aware of!!!

read the thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/220499-k-1-petition-information/

Quote from the said interview: "So what about some people get approved ahead of others? Some petitions have problems or delays, we do not hold back others for this. If an adjudicator has problems, he puts that one aside or sends an RFE and goes on to the next. The next one may be clean and gets approved right away, in just a few minutes, they adjudicate 15-20 petitions a day per person, and the ones with problems may wait weeks for the petitioner to respond to the RFE, or maybe it is a name check they are waiting for. Petitions are assigned as they arrive, when we are working on those petitions, but they do not go out the door in the same order they came in."

... hmmmm "in just a few minutes, they adjudicate 15-20 petitions a day per person"... if so why are approvals so slow then?

The above could explain why. If they update the current processing times to the times that they are actually processing, they will be bombarded with calls/complaints from the filers whose date has gone past what is written and not have received any NOA2 yet. My thought

That means in the end of February they were still processing July 18 (because they weren't processing any I-129F files for months). Now they started working on those files again. When we wait another month we'll find out what files they were working on at March 31.

Seems many do not understand the processing date. The processing date is the earliest date (July 18 for CSC) the the service center is processing. In this case the CSC asserts they have completed processing all earlier petitions (July 17th and earlier). The processing date will not change until CSC has completed all July 18 petitions. At least to some percentage they have set. Furthermore if the receipt date (not the NOA1) is July 17th or earlier the service center allows you to place a service request. As you can see the service centers can and does work ahead of the processing date. It is clear that CSC is deliberately holding back some number of July 18 petitions(remember receipt date not NOA1 date). When CSC decides to advance the processing date you will get the indication right here on vj's Igor list long before the USCIS starts reporting a new processing date. First you will see a significant amount of July 23 filers being approved (July 23 NOA1 is likely July 19 receipt date). After you see a mass of July 23 filers being approved guess what the processing date will be...It may still be July 18 because the receipt date reported is a month or so behind the current date....Hope this helps
