I am a US citizen. I’m about to file my wife’s DS230 (Immigration Visa application) to NVC.

While going over my wife’s documentation I discovered that her (beneficiary) father’s first name is used as “Md” on some documentation and it is omitted on some other documentation. “Md” is a common prefix (shortened from Prophet Mohammad) used by many Bangladeshi Muslim males and it is not considered as the name used to refer to the person. For this reason use of “Md” in official documents is often inconsistent.

Would you please suggest if she (beneficiary) needs to have her Father’s prefix (Md) corrected in all documents to make it consistent or if there’s an affidavit needed for this purpose.
