How long until Sydney Consulate interview?

We've received notification from the NVC that they have all the documentation necessary, and that we will be advised as soon as an interview has been scheduled with the Sydney Consulate.

My question is - does anybody know (from experience, I guess) how long it's likely to take until that interview is scheduled? It obviously depends on the number of interview slots the Consulate has and the number of interviews needed to be done...I just wondered if anybody could give any clues as to whether we're likely to be waiting days, weeks, or months?

2012.07.25 - NOA1 dated

2012.08.02 - NOA2 received (8 days) Receipt number: WAC-12-904-39967

2012.08.30 - Sent DS3032 email to NVC.

2012.09.06 - Received emails from NVC advising:

- notify NVC of agent

- pay $88 AOS processing fee

2012.09.06 - Found fees outstanding at US Department of State Portal ($88 Affidavit of Support (AOS) Fees).

2012.09.08 - $88 fee marked as paid on US Department of State Portal

2012.09.13 - Found fees outstanding at US Department of State Portal ($230 IV Application Processing Fees).

2012.09.22 - IV $230 payment marked as paid on the US Department of State Portal.

2013.01.18 - AOS packet mailed to NVC

2013.02.04 - DS-230 packet mailed to NVC

2013.02.04 - Received email from NVC advising that more information regarding petitioner's US domicile is required

2013.02.21 - Received email from NVC advising that our birth, marriage and divorce certificates and the Police check sent with DS-230 packet were all not originals or certified copies issued by the relevant government authority.

2013.03.01 - Mailed AOS packet response to NVC with required documentation.

2013.03.01 - Mailed DS-230 packet response to NVC with required documentation.

2013.04.03 - Received email from NVC advising that all documentation necessary has been received and we will be advised as soon as an interview has been scheduled.

Only by experience we waited nearly 10 days for our interview date but our interview was scheduled about

5 weeks from the time we received the NVC completion email.

Our interview is on Tuesday... So keep your fingers crossed.

The NVC has told me a couple of times that when they schedule people's interviews, they schedule them about a month in advance, to give them plenty of time to prepare - so when we finally do get our date, I expect it to be a month or so later. I just want to get the darn date so we know where we stand!

I know what you mean, I just want this whole thing over and done with. It is a long process to keep your life sort of on hold.

Three days to go, we fly to Sydney on Monday to make sure we will not be late.

Have you called to get your actual Case Complete date? The email you got usually gets sent 5 to 7 days after case Complete. The date of case complete is important when it comes to scheduling.

Hopefully a slot will come up before the next road which is June.

No, I haven't got a Case Complete date - is that something they give you just if you ask for it? And in what way is it important?
