Totally agree with you, but hoping for the best - may be I can win the race this time. Thanks for sharing your info.

I just feel bad because I took my time going through the nvc figuring we had a long time to go before becoming current, and did not think 2 months a big movements in the vb would get us to this point already. We took our time during nvc to get things right and took our time. Now to find out that is coming back to bite us.

Thanks for the info on the cut-off date! 8 June 2011 sounds right on the basis of what we have seen here.

I don't think the supervisor meant that anyone who completed their case before you would get an interview first. The interviews are still based on priority dates, but of course you do need to have a completed case before you can be scheduled. In some consulates it takes eight weeks (or more) before an interview can be scheduled, and if you only completed your case in March, you unfortunately just missed the boat. You should have good news next month.

Good luck!

Next month will be the same ####### because others will be current and still be waiting more than me. I think it is a pure random chosing. I have checked timelines, and there are some that will be current next vb and still have case complete before me, so I am back of the line again? This can go on for several months

Ricardo

Brother I have same question

For AOS

2010 -21000 $

2011-13000 $

2012-33300 $

So my confusion is can my wife income is enough for supporting me or we need additional support ..I mean joint spornsor.

Please reply

Thanks in advance.

You only need to see if her 2012 income has met the 125% of the poverty guidelines (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf) depending on how many will be counted in the household including the person being petitioned and if there are any derivatives.

For example, you wife's count is one and you as husband who will be living with her counts as two, and you dont have any children who will join you in this petition, then the household count is two. Refering to the guide, if your wife is currently living in mainland US, the income should not be less than 19,387$ per year.

You only need to present the latest itr which is 2012 and an updated aos during interview.

Goodluck.

True, if we have retrogression in July you will have to wait a bit longer. Many of the recently approved VSC February-May 2011 filers will complete their cases this month, and if their consulates have availability in July, we might see the cut-off dates retrogress. Still, you are very close to finishing your visa journey but I understand your frustration for not getting an interview for next month.

But what does not make sense is that by nvc own admission they told me that cases that get completed first get interviews first if the priority dates are current. For example if person A has pd of jan1 2012 and person B has pd of feb 1 2012, and person B has case complete before person A, they will get interview first. even though they are both current and with the same visa cetegory and consulate but a pd that is later. So by using this same logic, why would there be a retrogression? I finished my case before they did, regardless of the pd. I should be next for interview and they have to wait for the next round just like I got screwed this month. It does not make sense that there are people getting interviews this week with pd later than me and case complete before me, and next month people would getting interviews that have pd before me but case complete after me. That is why I said in early post to me the pd is useless, because it comes down to first come first server as long as your pd is current. If I get taken out of the interview line because of that, then that is flatout wrong. Let me say this again, as per nvc people who have case complete first get interviews first as long as the pd is current, meaning that I have pd may 3 2011, and if someone had pd of june 2, 2011 and their case completed a month before me, they would get the interview first because they finished the case first as long as the vb is past june 2, if not I would get the interview. By apllying the same logic, there would be no retrogression, just the line and wait time to get interviews would get longer and longer. So regadless of the vsc fliers pd I would get interview first because obviously at this point I would have case complete before them.

What happened to your case? You said in your prior post that you "took your time in the NVC process". When did you receive NOA2?

You situation will be very common and lots of people will be in the same boat, these coming months. This is the result of USCIS not approving F2A cases from 2011 until now. You're not alone.

Nothing happened to the case, we sent in i130 in may 2011 and in nov 2011 was approved then sent to nvc. We took our time to pay the fees to nvc due to having to save up the money for them. I am filing for two kids so the application costs are expensive of two of everything. We made sure everything as filed correctly, as we needed some documents from the Philippines, so it took 3 weeks each time to get them. We got case complete in march 2013. This is a big problem that will set us back more than just not getting interviews, this will hurt financially more than anything. We filed our taxes wrong and owe 2,000 and instead of making payments till next year when we can claim the kids as dependents, we can no longer do that. Our budget is really tight right now, and now and I have money coming in june but will have to pay off the tax bill now instead of waiting for the dependent tax credit next year. We will then in turn lose the money we needed to get them school clothes, beds, and will possibly make the plane tickets too expensive to afford in late this year(nov-feb) are expensive prices. I haven't even mentioned the living situation of the kids in the Philippines, the situation is getting worst by each passing month because of family problems. This setback is much worse than just not getting interview. If the delay is going to be very long, I will probably need to go home to get things in order there by doing so will cause us to not have any money for any further advancement in the visa process, so I would most likely stay there

Don't worry, as long as the Visa Bulletin is not yet published, there's still chance that your kids will get their interview letters. It's only the 3rd of May, people get IL until the 2nd week. Prepare the budget now for the medical exam, the new immigrant fee of $165 each, air fare, travel tax and terminal fee, just to be ahead of the game.

Good luck.
