Hello VJ memebers,

At the moment i am waiting for interview as i sent packet 3.5 information back to US embassy in Islamabad (Pakistan). I am little worried about AR/AP. What are the chances to caught in AP/AR after interview?? Which people mostly gone through that process ??

Thanks and looking some reply.

Hello Zaki,

All Pakistani Males get Administrative Processing and or Administrative Review. It is just a known fact and only one doctor got 19 days others run average of 5-6 months or longer. Just being honest and you need to be aware that you can have AR and AP and no one can expedite your case. You can also have one or more field investigations and these are very common with this embassy.

Statistics

Melly/Ali (K1) interview in March 2006 and still on AP.

Dude (CR1) interview still on AP.

Shon/Javed (CR1) had K3 and it was canceled after the checks completed since the CR1 was at the embassy. They are now in AP for CR1 in total one year or longer or checks.

Atif (k1) AP now

Michigan (K3) recently approved after 364 days**

Our case was (CR 1) and approved after 5 months**

Plus others that I do not have time lines on their cases.

You will interview and they will give you a 221g one or two forms that states 45 days and you can contact them after that time. It means 45 business open days for the embassy and no weekends and if you get AP all you will ever be told is the case is in AP and they will contact you once your case is ready to process further.

Good luck on your processing and pray for patience and understanding.

Mary

Thanks for reply but it is very sad. I was already waiting from last 5 years, when my wife was on green card. Recently i upgrade my petition from F2A to IR1. It means i have to wait and wait more. This is really terrible.

I agree but if you know you have to wait some time after the interview it is more helpful than being stuck in the dark totally. Hope your process goes quickly and you are welcome to come to these forums that have us from the Islamabad area actively chatting and asking questions.

Hope if you are put on AP, it will be for a very short time. There are lot of factors for putting someone on AP, for example, if husband/wife are from same cultures, then the AP/AR should not be long. Usually, they put all male applicants on AP regardless of country. So don't worry. You have waited for 5 long years and I am sure, if you have to wait more, it will be much less. Make sure, you take lots of wedding pictures, communication records with you for the interview.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

zaki,

Mostly people who have failed to demonstrate a bona fide (not for the purpose of evading immigration law) relationship.

People who are in love tend to think that their love is as obvious to all as it is to themselves, failing to realize that it may not be so obvious to a dis-interested 3rd party whose job it is to be skeptical in an environment where one of the partners is sometimes (or often) faking it.
