**** Moving from Tourist Visa to Off Topic as not tourist visa related ****

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I see you point and agree, but its a whole new ball of wax when we're finally together. Just like with any marraige, it takes time and patience and a sense of humor to get though it. And even then, it can fail. There is a huge adjustment (depending on the country) that both parties go through and if neither person is REALLY ready to adjust and grow, then it will be difficult to move forward. I personally have already experienced a HUGE blow to my friendship and marriage with my husband in a very short period of time. This process is tough. Just be patient, try not to read every story and post on here during your wait. You will drive yourself and your fiance mad.

I had no idea how much work, time, and patience it was going to take having an immigrant spouse. In the end, I think we're coming out much stronger, but its certainly taught me to have much more sympathy for those who's marriages don't work out in this immigration journey.
