It's fairly easy to understand considering the group of buyers. It's not like your average John and Jane Doe all of a sudden felt the need to buy this useless #######. It's the paranoid gun nuts that already sit on stockpiles that rival what some smaller nations keep in stock.

oddly enough, the 3 i know of that recently purchased firearms match none of your description. an army colonel, who's never owned a gun. a co-worker, who's never owned a gun, and another co-worker who has 1.

But in the context of the post it was directed towards items that the government wanted to ban under a new assault weapons purchase ban. Therefore, if a person wants the item, there is a rational fear that this might be the last time to buy. Paranoia is not involved.

Well the is fairly recent. At one time it looked like they might pull it off....

At no time did it look that way and I posted that from day one. From day one. The reason I did not participate in the bukkake is that it was useless from the get-go. You simply had little faith in an informed poster. I have been studying this and watching this for more than 40 years. The make-up of congress does not exist to pull this off and cannot possibly exist until at least 2018. It never had a chance in hell and informed articles everywhere said so. One of the very first informed articles said "Forget the House...this won't pass the Senate!"

As for some other things we should mention here for the non-believers...

The Heller decision has been dissected and pooh-poohed by the low information posters here as, well, not really meaning much. Well, YES it means that the right to bear arms is an individual right. The McDonald decision...next domino...was pooh-poohed by the low information posters as even less relevent. Well, YES it means the right applies to states and municipalities. So what. Domino number TWO leads to domino number THREE. The judicial order implementing concealed carry in Illinois. It was not going to happen except by judicial order in Illinois because in that state there ARE enough morons to take away people's rights. The only state affected by the order is Illinois as the others in the 7th circuit already have "shall issue" concealed carry. Challenging it to the SCOTUS would obligate ALL states to offer "shall issue" concealed carry. Go for it!

Go. For. It! Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago delegation in the legislature do not have the nads to try it, and states such as California and New Jersey are telling them to fall on their sword and STFU!

The Heller and McDonald decisions and this 7th circuit ruling are a carefully crafted litigation program which WILL restore the rights of every person in this country to carry concealed weapons to protect themselves and reduce crime. The plan of litigation will once and for all eliminate any ideas of assault weapons bans nationwide and firearms registration nationwide.

Watch and learn.

Obama's attempt has strengthened the NRA even further and fueled the litigation process with $$$ Thank you very much. Over the next 10-12 years the process will be completed. Since 1985...

3. Firearms manufacturers protection act in 2002 which eliminates lawsuits against firearms dealers and manufacturers except for strict liability

6. 7th circuit decision 2013

7. repeal of the Brady Act

8. Repeal of the '94-'04 AWB

The dominoes fall one by one. I am patient and diligent. 30 years in and tons of progress made...another 10-12 years ought to just about finish the job.

Each of the guns used is a semi-automatic weapon, and not one is an automatic weapon.

Was it a slip? or was he just telling what was found at the crime scene after the crime lab finished up with the analysis?

Maybe we need a timeline, covering what he knew, and when he knew it? That'd make more sense, really.

The "plans" were sold for $10 in the one of the classified ads in the back of Shotgun News, in the days when few people had access to the internet. It took my friend like five minutes with a scrap piece of metal, a drill, and a file, to make the drop-in piece that fits in your wallet.

It was not a slip. It was misinformation fed to the low information voters designed to increase cards and letters to congresspersons. Most of them know the low information voters stay home on election day to Watch "Dr. Phil" and do not come out to vote, but gun owners do.

Yes, firearms can be modified by people with knowledge and tools. In fact, automatic firearms can be made from muffler pipes (British Sten gun for example) given tools and knowledge. We can even build skyscrapers where none existed...a monumentally harder task than making a gun.

Any machine shop, any machine operator can make a gun, even an automatic rifle. They are low tech devices that use technology more than 1000 years old.

Given 3D printing technology the day of you being able to duplicate and make a gun in your office is coming. Soonish.

And what? Most guns are made from little else. Magazine manufacturers purchase scrap aluminum cans and plastic milk bottles. What's the point?
