DS-3032 and DS-230 submission

I'm very confused about the correct way to handle the submission of the DS-3032 and DS-230 forms. I recently received the NOA2 notifications for my wife and her daughter, so I called the NVC 1 week later as instructed here to try to get the case numbers for the DS-3032 and DS-230 form submissions. First I was told that it's pointless to call until 10-20 business days later. Once they finally told me the case number 12 business days later they told me not to submit the forms early. Even though my wife and her daughter already obtained the forms online and signed and mailed them to me by EMS, I was told not to use those forms and to only use the official forms that will be mailed to her in China. This will cause more delays. I would like to follow the advice here and mail the forms I received from my wife, but I don't want to do anything against what I'm told by the NVC. Why is there conflicting information? Was I told standard info that can be ignored or must I follow the instructions of the NVC to avoid problems?

Gonna bump this for the OP for our. You may also want to check out the NVC April filers thread in the progress sub forum. Lots of info there. Sorry I'm on my tablet and it's hard to link.

NVC sending forms? well, they DO do that, over time, if you get into their normal 'postal processing' track.

Most people here at VJ do not use NVC 'postal processing track' as it's 3 months per thing.

Instead, most people follow LingChe in the wiki.

You, however, since the casefiles are headed to Guangzhou, can utilize NVC Electronic Processing, but must OPT IN for it.

So, you must establish your telephone calling pattern - and call into NVC -

what you are chasing after:

1. NVC consular casefile numbers, starting with GUZ

2. AOS FEE BILL to hit your email

The NVC TeleOperators have little to no training about process, so keep that in mind as you are calling in.

I say call once every 2 or 3 days , untl you learn of the NVC Consular Casefile Numbers... When these numbers are available, is a different conversation altogether, as the NVC TeleOperator will ask for your email addresses on your and your wife. Until the NVC TeleOperator actually asks that question? The casefiles are not ready for further processing at NVC.

Sorry for the confusion - you got a 'helpful' NVC TeleOperator that was talking out her @ss about the forms.

I strongly suggest you relax a bit, and study about NVC Electronic Processing for Guangzhou, it's a different beastie altogether.

---

you gots any invoices yet? if so, can pay them, but please consider to utilize NVC Electronic Processing for Guangzhou instead of mailing in forms and know the trigger for WHEN to OPT IN.

after reviewing your profile, I have new posit for you.

IF your wife will be interviewed in Japan, then no EP available for you to do. You simply mail in the forms to NVC after paying.

Don't send the DS-3032 stuff until the AOS FEE BILL has been received in your email inbox, though, as that's a trigger point for NVC to accept stuff.

If your wife will be interviewed in China, EP is the best option for you.
