Did the OP get sufficient answers to the original questions?

 Thanks everyone for your opinions, I really appreciate it!

Going back to the original question. I agree with some of you that they should not be able to get education in the US because of their unlawful presence, but at the same time I understand that they were brought here as children and this is now their "home" so, I kind of have conflicting thoughts about that.

To get in state tuition in Colorado you have to have lived in the state for at least one consecutive year. And what really bothers me is that, I LEGALLY set foot in the US in July 2011 on a k1 visa, I wanted to start school asap, I figured that the following year (August 2012) I would be considered in-state since that was my 1 year in CO. Well, that did not happen. I could not afford to pay out-of-state and had to wait another 6 months. I also have many friends who are here legally as international students; they have been living in CO for over 3 years and they are not able to get in-state tuition at all. Why? because they are international and apparently because they are not illegal. I'm really not against illegals but this kind of situations make me think about how messed up the system is in some ways.
