Good Evening everyone!

I was wondering whether someone could shed some light on an issue for me. I'm curious if certain countries require you present the police certificate during the interview or if I have to send it in with the visa packet ( Passport copy, 2x2 pictures, form, birth certificate and wedding certificate). I've been back and forth with my USC husband on this.

Along with that, does anyone have any idea what the embassy in Rio requires?

Any feedback is greatly accepted!

08-30 2012: We got married


10-22-2012: I130 registered at the USCIS

02-02-2013: I130 approved


02-27-2013: Petition registered at NVC

05-20-2013: NVC Case complete

05-27-2013: Received email NVC Case complete

06-04-2013: Called NVC - Interview scheduled for 07-05-2013

06-04-2013: Confirmation from NVC by email


06-06-2013: Left NVC

06-10-2013: Arrived at Rio de Janeiro Embassy - CEAC website shows case as "Ready"

06-19-2013: Recieved confirmation email from the Rio de Janeiro Embassy

07-02-2013: Medical

07-05-2013: Interview


07-25-2013: I-601 Waiver received in NSC

02-07-2014: NSC sent an RFE

04-16-2014: I-601 Approved

05-19-2014: Visa in Hands

06-06-2014: POE - JFK

I appreciate the help! I was aware of the documents I needed to provide, but unfortunately the website doesn't entail whether I should send the police certificate through NVC or take it with me to the interview.

Amazing how little things can cause such a big headache huh?

Well if you don't find the answer, then I would mail NVC the police report anyway. It doesn't hurt! Also, in some countries, it takes long to process these so if you figure out to send it, then you should order it asap :)

oh good it's no problem for you! In Pakistan, I should receive it in 4 days (not without a bribe though :blush: )

Send it to NVC or you will get a checklist requesting it before your case is closed at NVC. Good Luck!
