So folks who has written to there congress or senator? I wrote to my senator today. Gave lots of details and recommended that he visit V.J for reference to all our stories. Gave dates, processing times, numbers and plumbing issues to really get the point across!!!!! I was very polite and made it clear that it's not preferential treatment I seek, just help. I called C.S.C yesterday and had the misfortune of dealing with a man who couldn't have been more rude or dismissive!!! The night of ignorance!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway.......told my senator to expect a lot of nonsense but maybe he could use his super hero senator powers to kick #### on behalf of us all. I feel very strongly about this one point and bet a lot of you guys do to. I said that the unprofessional attitude and the fact that so many U.S citizens are forced to be apart from our loved ones because of work load, dream act, blocked toilets etc is making a mockery of U.S immigration. We all pay taxes and are trying to do this the legal and correct way but are being punished! Fingers crossed I get a response. Hope you guys do to. Good luck all.

It would be interesting to know what contact you have had over the years with your politicians. Did you use the form they all have to get basic info from you about your situation? If you didn't you will probably get a response that will include the need to do that.

When you get a chance to actually speak it will be to a staff member trained to make you feel better. Ask that person to send you the Senators voting record on immigration issues. Ask what the good Senator is currently doing about immigration reform. Ask what power the Senator has over USCIS. Ask where the funding for USCIS comes from.

Keep in mind that those of us that decided to bring someone here from another country are responsible for what it takes to get that done. That includes learning about the immigration process which isn't fast nor easy.

You will get a response but I doubt it will be the earth shattering one you expect. Few here on V J have been really helped by these same people that have taken no action to reform the immigration laws for 60 years.

I contacted my Senator's office and though they were very helpful and nice, they told me they couldn't contact USCIS until the timeline quoted online (about 5-6months for the K1 visa) had been surpassed. We ended up getting our petition approval just under 6 months since I turned in the paperwork so I didn't end up needing a senator anyways. I wouldn't expect superpowers unfortunately.

Yet others get help from their congressman when they haven't waited half the time some of us have. Guess it just is pot luck :(

I actually contacted and have been working with in congressman not in my district who is more of a help than my Congresswoman who will remain namesless (She's the head of the Democratic Party) I put in a request to both of them on the sameday to look into my NOA2 because it hit the 6 month mark, the congressman in the other district got a response within hours, meanwhile I am still waiting to hear from the congresswoman in my district it had been almost 3 weeks, and when I call they tell me "they are still waiting for a response"

So you can take it for what it is worth.

Good morning all. Yes I agree that maybe I won't get any major brake through with his help but I'm making myself feel better by trying to proactive. Fingers crossed.

Oh and when I visited his website there is a generic area for letters but he also has a contact for immigration and help with fecal agencies. So I downloaded his for allowing him to work on my behalf and signed it with my letter. Will keep you all updated IF I get any kind of response.

Oh my!!!!!!! iPad writing on my behalf again!!!!!!!!! Haha! That's made me smile. Well first step of my letter has gone extremely well. They were more than happy to help and were shocked at how bad the situation is. Feeling positive so far. I guess he can only do so much but I feel great for making a step forward.
