Indeed, I was lucky enough to get i551 stamp at interview so wasn't as worried. Plus i'm not going to the uk till the 19th, but I hope yours arrives soon and all works out with your fathers surgery

29th July 2013- interview 2pm APPROVED ON THE SPOT

Interview this week... eek! Getting nervous now. It's strange but my online case status hasn't updated.. it still showing the last update from when they cancelled my last interview. Has this happened to anyone else?

Also, I was going through my paper and I just noticed that my new notice for interview is not an I797C- NOA. It's a typed letter just asking me to appear for my interview. Do different offices have different forms?

When they cancelled and rescheduled my interview date, it was just on a typed letter also. I took both, the noa for original interview date, and the typed letter for new interview date, to my interview though, just to be sure. However, they just wanted to see the new typed up letter to confirm appointment date and time. Good luck!!!

my questions are as follows

does this sounds like a sign of approval?

am not sure about the 30days or should i seriously expect a reply within 30days as stipulated?

i think contacting the congressman is a good idea and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but since its a free service i will encourage people to go ahead and try their luck. i attended an info-pass that was more or else a waste of time so i took this route instead. my interview was on July12 2013 in Houston

Thanks everyone! We are so happy!

The interview was relatively pain free and very short. Maybe 15 minutes. He asked me all the I-485 questions (terrorism, weapons, drugs etc) and just a few additional questions like had my husband been to Canada to meet my friends/famiy (no but my family/friends have travelled here), how we met... and asked us for additional documents to support our marriage. We had a stack of pictures and he never asked for them. In retrospect I should of pulled them out to show pictures of him with my family and friends or when he asked for additioanl evidence but I was so nervous! After that he said he has approved us, our paperwork is all done and I should expect to have my green card within 30 days! Woohoo! :)
