Hey guys. I don't know who has had experience with this but I rli need help...my ead was sent to my about 2 months ago and usps lost it n up to this point has done nothing about it saying that they r not responsible unless it was stolen...ok fine that was only the ead so I let that one slide since our greencard interview was coming up. I got approved for my greencard and usps lost it again!!!!!!!! Can u believe that? ??? Now I'm saying that the only way I could get a replacement for free is if the card somehow gets back to immigration as undelivered. I doubt that will happen. I need my greencard asap so I can start my life. Who can I talk to to get results??? Wat is a higher authority for the post office that I can report them to??? Helpppppppp

Similar situation happened to my friend. His green card was lost in the mail. His wife went to the main post office in town and spoke to the manager. He helped her by calling different places and it was later found in sorting facility in different state and then forwarded to original address. Talk to the manager of your post office. Call national help line maybe.

You can also try to get a stamp in your passport if you really need it now. You would have to get info pass appointment and explain to USCIS what happened. Stamp serves as the green card.

The post office is of no help far but I'm definitely going back Monday to raise my voice...and about the stamp. I kno it serves as a greencard but can I use that to go get my social security???

Hey guys!

Super delayed update: My GC was approved on the spot at the interview August 14!!

Here's the story:

We arrived at the Kendall, FL immigration office at 9:00 am for our 9:30 am appointment. We handed our letter to the reception desk and they stapled a ticket number on it and told us to sit in the waiting room. We made small talk and joked about the screens in the waiting room (they were showing a runtime error and we are both Computer Engineering majors). After what seemed like an eternity, we were called in. The IO led us to the last office in a maze of corridors and swore us in. She asked for both of our ID's and confirmed with my husband that the address on his DL was the address where we currently reside.

The IO then asked us how long we have been living at this address. Both of us answered at the same time. He said January and I said December... I almost died inside!! She looked up very sternly and said "well, which one is it?" I had to remind my husband that we had moved our stuff in at the beginning of December and that we moved in after our honeymoon on December 21st. I became very nervous at this point because it seemed like I was coaching him through the answer and I thought the IO was definitely going to interview us separately and my husband and I are terrible with dates!!

She then asked us when we started dating (that was easy), and how long we were dating until we decided to get married. At this point, my husband began to try to do the math in his head and mistakenly said one year and and some months. Again, I had to help him do the math so he could see it was TWO years and some months.

I had to breathe in deeply and ask God to keep me calm because after these two questions it seemed like we were in trouble. Thankfully her next two questions (how did you meet? and, what was your engagement like?) were a breeze and we felt much more comfortable telling these stories.

After this, the IO asked us if we had brought any other evidence of bonafide marriage and I told her I had bank account statements, tax transcripts and photos. She only looked at the photos and took her time going through each page of the album.

Then she said our application had been approved and asked us to walk with her to the photocopy machine so she could make copies of some pages of the album. When she said the application was approved, I asked her to please have it say my married last name and she said that was fine.

I'm so happy, I still don't think I have fully processed what happened but I thank God and praise Jesus for this amazing blessing He has given me!!

That is so weird. Have you been getting your regular mails ok, because it's so coincidental that the actual card mails get 'misplaced'....I would definitely storm that post office and get someone on their working butt!!!!

Interview was this morning, Wife who is USC first, then both of us, didn't really need to see any documents just confirmed name address etc, then asked where we first met and two other questions, then said it's clear this is a genuine marriage, so I'm going to approve you Congratulations. He asked for my EAD, and removed I94 from my passport, told me we should get the card in a couple of weeks. I explained that I travel for work how would I re-enter without advanced parole if I had to travel before Green Card arrived. He went off to check and came back and said he would give me a temporary Green Card valid for 60 days in my passport there and then. So he then had to log on and officially approve file stamp everything and then put I551 in my passport total time from Wife going to interview to leaving building with Green Card 29 minutes.

Hi Everyone!

Are there any other April filers adjusting from K-1? My husband's AOS application was accepted on April 10, 2013. He received the EAD/AP and also got a SSN already. We have an immigration lawyer and he is saying not to expect to hear from them for 9-11 months from filing, we are hoping to hear something by the new year. Arg, it is such a pain to wait. You would think that since were coming from K1 and have proof galore, that they would give us the green card faster, not take a year to sort out the decision.

Vent over.

Thanks everyone! Im excited to join this forum and follow your stories. I hope there are some April filers out there adjusting from K-1 so we can share updates!

xx Kat
