I got really excited when my status changed to 'testing & interview' little bit over a month after filing. I thought it will be a matter of days (no RFE either should speed up the process). Then days changed into weeks... I called after 30 days but nothing could be done. I was told it's still within processing limits. I started doing some research about my local office and I realized in Hartford, CT it takes about 2 months until the interview is scheduled. This calmed me a bit. I just knew what to expect and tried not to get too worked up about it.

I know it is hard seeing other people get their interview date after only few days in 'testing & interview' step. Try to keep yourself busy. Read reviews of your local office.

Thank you both for your replies. I was starting to get worried, but it seems the Denver office is just slow at scheduling interviews. I feel better knowing that scheduling times can vary greatly from office to office, so this case isn't that unusual.

Thankfully the EAD/AP are approved, so we know we're making progress. :)

Hello!

We had our interview today at 8:00 a.m. at the Kendall office location in Miami,FL.

We arrived around 7:40 a.m., security was fast and we had to wait maybe 10 mins before we were called. There was a few families waiting and we see some of them being called before us by different officers.

The officer that called us was a nice lady, we did the sworn statement and she immediatly open our file, ask for our id's and start writing something on the file, then she asked us how long we have known each other and how long we've been married, ask 2 questions from the YES or NO list, verify our signatures on the applications and the address and that was it she said I'm going to approved your case, then she looked at our photoalbum and explain about the removal of conditions.

My husband asked her if she can change my name for the GC because I want to use my married name and she said Ok we talked a little bit and then we left.

RIght after we got the email that the card has been sent to production!!!

I will say the interview took 5 mins, we were a little nervous when we were driving there but that was pretty much all,when we arrived there we felt better, the IO was very nice and friendly and we both felt comfortable.

She didn't keep my I-94, EAD/AP or stamp my passport.

We are very happy and relievedcontent.gif

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

01/03/14 - Day 274 - Interfiling request received by USCIS

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

08/18/14 - Day 501 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 is approved but no card prodn ordered. Asked to call back in 2 weeks if no update.

08/29/14 - Day 512 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 was not approved yet, but my file was with an IO for a decision

Here is what we had with us at the interview *the IO didnt asked for anything at all!!*

Both of our ID's *passports, I-94, EAD/AP*

Birth Certificates

Marriage Certificate *we had a US one and a Panamanian one as well as church certificate*

Bank Statement from joint checking account and credit card

Affidavit from landlord stating that we live together

Document from work saying I'm his emergency contact and that he is listed as married

Affidavit from 2 close friends

Mail with both names

Receipts from engagement ring and wedding bands, wedding dress, and other wedding expenses.

Paypal transfers between both

Joint amazon account and mail delivered to both from amazon

Marriage course preparation certificate

Airplane tickets

Park tickets from a trip to Orlando

and around 30 pictures and an engagement photobook *this was the only think she looked at*

I don't know if my list is helpful,we don't have a lot of joint documents, no insurance or big joint assesment, but we tried to get other type of evidence.

We had a lawyer at the interview and he had all the copies of the forms.

I'm a July filer and I filed without form I-864 Affidavit of Support. I received my RFE (Request for Evidence) and I would like to get a form I-864 example! I need the one for 2013; the newest form that is a little different than the older one from 2010-12. Thank you!!!

04/05/2013 (Day 1) - Package received by USCIS Chicago

04/11/2013 (Day 7) -Received all 3 NOAs via text and email

04/12/2013 (Day 8) - Checks cashed

04/15/2013 (Day 11)- NOA hard copies received

04/19/2013 (Day 15) -Received Biometric appointment for 05/06/2013

04/22/2013 (Day 18) - Successful walk in Biometrics

06/18/2013 (Day 75) - EAD approved

06/24/2013 (Day 80) - testing and interview

07/02/2013 (Day 88) - interview scheduled for August 2
