ddkorestin: I've never had to make one so I don't know how quickly you can get in, but maybe try an InfoPass? Let me know how the call went. It's so bizarre that your statuses aren't updated at least! Dave & I are doing our thing but one of us always wonder how you are. We'll continue to keep the faith.

ImmemorialN: Congratulations! Our I-130 was approved the next day. Since it's dependent upon the outcome of the AOS, it takes a bit to catch up. Within the next couple of days, you should see the status updated.

i did spoke to a lady who is a level 2 support officer. She said if there's any emergency just like i have raised, that i can walk into the USCIS office where i was interviewed and that they might require a proof that my parent is critically sick in Africa and i need to travel as a matter of urgency. she said they can either approve my green card or issue me with an emergency travel document.

she said its normal these days for people not to get an instant answer regarding their i485 interview which i totally disagree, compare to the number of instant success, i would say ratio 1 to 10, or 2 to 10, that is to say for every 10 interviews u might get 1 or 2 further review that will take more than a day or two, most people are approved within 48 hours and that's just my own opinion.

she was polite and sympathize with my family sickness back home.

she also said, that from her personal experience, am likely to be approved within 2 weeks and thats what she sees more often.

i told her i might give it another week or so and then i will try and obtain a travel pass or i might be lucky and have it approved immediately.

thanks a lot carla and dave

ddkorestin - I am so glad you were able to speak to someone. It still strikes me odd that it Is taking so long. However, remember our experiences. Every time someone called USCIS there was movement on their case within a day or two. We've tested and have proven that theory countless times. I don't think this time wil be different.

You will be cutting it close to getting your actual GC in time for travel. I would definitely make an InfoPass appointment and get an I-551 stamp once your AOS is approved. Of course, you will need documentation that there is an illness. Dave & I are sorry to hear about that. I hope they are on the mend soon. It's not like you need anything else to worry you. Hang in there! You are a day closer!

car0593 - Congrats! One step closer to freeeeeedom! lol

News on our stuff: The update that we got today was notice that Dave's card was mailed. Woohoo! I'm now on mailbox duty. What shall I ever do with my time now that Dave's immigration stuff is done? HaHa

I am in a similar situation. Approved on July 2 and up to now my online status hasn't changed and I haven't gotten anything in the mail. Hypnos recommends I wait a month. So I am going to do that.

Please keep us posted.

Blue Bianchi

i did filed i130 currently and nothing has stayed since the interview. the i130 is still on initial review while the i485 is on testing and interview. i might try to speak to the T2 rep today and i might consider writing a letter to my IO because i need to travel out of the country and since i didn't apply for my AP and my passport wasn't stamped then i think i might need a sort of agreement and permission to leave the county in 2 weeks time

Congratulations! Better start preparing!!

Do you have any pointers for me as a matter of preparing? Any help will be appreciated.

I am nervous, but feel that we have plenty of evidence (married 5 years, child, house together, etc). But then again it's not over until I hold that GC in my hands. Until then I will be stressing out a lot.

This is nerve wrecking....I thought I'd be cool but faaaaaar from cool right now....Here's what we have for bona fide evidence:

Joint Tax return

Joint amended tax return

Joint credit card account

Joint prepaid card account

Around 18 photos (15 of which are from wedding day)

Affidavit stating we live together with a family friend

Affidavit from my best friend

Affidavit from my wife's brother (our sponsor)

I feel like this is not enough evidence and we dont have the stereotypical apartment lease, car lease, utility bills ect together. Called my phone company but it was pointless, even though I could add her, it wouldnt reflect on the bill. Any ideas on further evidence?

I got the email indicating card has been mailed today!

Did they include a tracking number? I don't have one in my status.

They want to see intermingling of funds & co-ownership. ... What about joint bank account? Joint names on title of car? Car registration? Auto insurance? AAA? Cosco? Sam's Club? Joint cell phone account? You can ask the phone company to provide a letter or even email stating that the account is joint. I did that with our DirecTv. Are you named as a beneficiary or emergency contact for your wife through her employer? She can get a letter from her work stating that. We had TONS and I mean TONS of receipts for purchases that we made since we were married (groceries, household items, clothes, entertainment, meals out, etc). Cards/letters addressed to both?
