21 days till interview! Don't know why my EAD hasn't been approved yet? Its been 61 days since application was receieved? Either way i really don't mind since my EAD for my prior case is still valid till 10/22/14:))

Sure, I'll add you to the list on the next update this week. We have been fortunate to have a really active group. It is surprising how little activity some of the other groups have had.

Hello,

Does anyone have the experience of applying for Learner's Permit or DL after applying for the SSN but before receiving the actual SSN Card, is that possible? if so how?

If someone can give me any advice on this please.

you definitely need the social information, but as carla said three days after u apply for the social a number will have been generated for u and by that time u can go bk to the ss office where u apply and they will give you a letter with the number on it! it is then possible for u to go to the drivers license office same day and do the exams! good luck!

Has your status not updated at all? Did you file an I-130 concurrently? Has that changed? Dave & I would be freaking out. Have you considered calling USCIS and speaking with a T2 rep?

We're gobsmacked that you haven't heard anything back. Keeping yourself busy is the right course to take although I'm sure it's still a distracting buzz in the back of your mind.

We're keeping the faith for you as I'm sure the rest of the April family is too.

i did filed i130 currently and nothing has stayed since the interview. the i130 is still on initial review while the i485 is on testing and interview. i might try to speak to the T2 rep today and i might consider writing a letter to my IO because i need to travel out of the country and since i didn't apply for my AP and my passport wasn't stamped then i think i might need a sort of agreement and permission to leave the county in 2 weeks time

Hi all!

Just wanted to let you guys know that I had my interview at 8am this morning, took literally 10-15 minutes. Was approved on the spot, and sent home. As of 10 minutes ago, card/document production status on my i-485!

As a fast overview:

We were called in at exactly 8:00am. The interviewing officer. He was a friendly, chatty gentleman who immediately asked my wife and I how we were doing. On entering his office, we were asked to raise our right hands and we were sworn in. He began to ask us some basic questions: confirmation of our IDs, had we brought the supporting documentation etc. He asked my wife where she worked and if she enjoyed it, and asked for a copy of the W2 (yet never actually took it or looked at it!) He asked if we had our marriage yet (obviously) and went over how much my wife earned and then how much I earnt. He asked to see our photos and a copy of the lease agreement for our house, and commented favourably on our photos, joking about our poses. He asked how we met, and joked that I had followed my wife back to the states. He asked my wife for her birth certificate, and looked over some of the utility bills.

Then he asked us if we had any questions, and I replied no. Then he said he was sending us home to wait for the green card! 2 hours later the status updated to card/document production.

Coincidentally, how long does it take for the I-130 to be approved? The status on that is still at initial review!

ddkorestin: I've never had to make one so I don't know how quickly you can get in, but maybe try an InfoPass? Let me know how the call went. It's so bizarre that your statuses aren't updated at least! Dave & I are doing our thing but one of us always wonder how you are. We'll continue to keep the faith.

p.s. Dave's AOS was updated to card production for the third time! Next should be shipping notice, right?

Ah, that makes sense indeed. Congratulations to you also, when I initially read your post after the interview my heart was in my stomach! So glad that Dave was approved!!

Just received two new notifications:

1) My I-130 Petition has been approved and the approval letter has been mailed out;

2) My I-485 Application has been approved and the NOA2 Welcome Letter has been mailed out

So this about ends my process! Without this forum I wouldn't have had a hope in hell of completing all of this by myself. Y'all have been wonderful, and for those who have not yet had their interviews/approvals I wish you the very, very best and will be watching for your positive outcomes!!

That's really strange. When I posted my comment none of the other comments after your 'I got approved' showed up. Thanks for posting the details. Glad you had such a painless interview

I sure hope I hear something soon. My patience is starting to wear thin especially seeing everyone else getting their approvals. Another month and a half and I should hit their 5-month average. I hope to hear something before then though!
