So glad it works well for you. I'm an app junkie .. You name it. I've got an app for it. lol. I'll be honest. I like the android app better than the iPad one. At least with the android, it notifies you when there's been a status update. I don't recall a notification with the iPad unless you are in-app.

Ah, so you are still in-process .. These apps will come in handy then. Keeping yourself busy & productive is key. You should have seen us a couple of days prior to our interview. We were like a couple of moms-to-be nesting! We scrubbed the kitchen and redecorated it along with the dining area. It's nice to finally have Dave's touches on the house. It doesn't feel like mine but more like ours now.

Dave was going bonkers prior to his approvals. Even when he got his EAD he didn't feel as though he could really move forward. He was concerned if he started settling in with a job and such that it would get blown to the wind with a denial. The only thing he has left to do is get his full drivers license and get a job. I cannot wait until he's working. It will do so much for his mental health.

Can you believe that I'm already preparing for his ROC? I think I have issues. LOL!

So, my wife and I had the best kind of AOS interview experience: boring (i.e., no surprises!)

Our appointment was for 11am, we arrived at about 10:30am and joined roughly 5 other couples/families in the waiting area. The turnover was reasonably quick, roughly 20 minutes per couple I'd estimate, but there were several interviewers that morning so we were called in at 11:15am. The lady conducting our interview smiled as she greeted us, but then didn't say anything as we walked to the interview room. Once there, however, she became much more chatty and immediately used phrases ('when you are approved', etc.) that sounded good for us! She explained the interview would only consist of checking information on the forms we had filed, which we then dutifully went through. She asked a few other questions about our relationship interspersed with the fact-checking of the documents - this surprised me, I thought it would be all facts, then all the other questions - but mostly just seemed interested in our story rather than digging for any details. She noted that my wife has lost weight since the first pictures we provided in our packet, and jokingly asked if it was because I stressed her out! (I like to think not, anyway). She asked us lots about our graduate degrees, and our thoughts on education, etc. Not at all relevant, just nice chat. When she asked for any additional evidence we had, the interviewer decided to look through our full photo album and we described the background of each photo. We offered joint bank account statements, which she declined to view. Then we were done! Since we are leaving town relatively soon, she gave me the passport stamp so that I am covered for the drive to MI (from AZ). Just before leaving, we were given an overview of the ROC procedures. Total length was about 35 minutes including all the chat. Very smooth, very easy, very happy :-)

its good to know that u r feeling prepared, a calm mind is the key! what do you have in your folders, what evidence did u send in and what do u plan to bring in with u!

good luck to you, sending lots of luck your way!

Hi, nothing out of the ordinary, we submitted utility bills and house documents with both names on, with our application. And for our interview, we are taking most recent utility bills, and a few more documents we have acquired with both our names on, along with photographs, and cards from family and friends addressed to us both for wedding, engagement, bridal shower, Christmas etc.

Trying to keep the calm mind!! Thanks for the luck!!

Has your status not updated at all? Did you file an I-130 concurrently? Has that changed? Dave & I would be freaking out. Have you considered calling USCIS and speaking with a T2 rep?

We're gobsmacked that you haven't heard anything back. Keeping yourself busy is the right course to take although I'm sure it's still a distracting buzz in the back of your mind.

We're keeping the faith for you as I'm sure the rest of the April family is too.

Hang in there!

I think the EAD is the important document for most driving-related stuff, rather than the SSN/card.

If you applied for your SSN but haven't received the card, you can go back to the SS office and ask for a printout of your number. All you need is the number and not the card itself. Of course, you will also need your EAD or GC to apply for your learner's permit/DL.
