What can i expect from the interviews??

What should i bring with me besides the photos planes tickets marige certificates??

Anything you can think of that will show bona fide marriage (lease with both names or mortgage, showing joint ownership, utility bills, phone bills, affidavits from family and friends who know both of you, insurance policies, life insurance showing your name as beneficiary, bank statements, birth certificates of children born in marriage with USC). You may not have lots of those if you came on K1, but just show as much as possible. Some people even use Skype history that shows ongoing contact.

It is hard to open a bank account or be added to utility bill without SS# so it is a good idea to apply for tax payer ID with IRS and use it in place of SS#. But that number is only good for taxes and not to be used as SS# for work since you may not be authorized to work. When you receive your SS# later you should update it with IRS.

We're leaving in the morning for the hotel. Getting über nervous & needless to say scared. Dave's afraid that he's going to be denied & get deported. I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard when I see him so stressed out. My heart aches at the thought of us being separated. I don't think I could take being away from him again. I feel as though I have the weight of the world on my shoulders and I could burst into tears any moment,

Are these fears normal?

Some positives to think about.....

- Nobody from the April filers across any of the forums has had a bad interview that I've seen.

- They seem to go very easy on couples who have been married less than 2 years, as they are granting 2 yr conditional green card only. They can review the bona fides again when you go to remove conditions in 2 years.

- You have a stack of evidence.

- You are a genuine couple! They have probably already approved you, but just need to go through the formality of the interview. I bet you are in and out of the interview in under 15 minutes :)

There is no point worrying about something that is out of your control. You have done everything you can to be prepared. Now try and relax and be excited, not stressed.

It will go well!

Is there anybody out there without interview date besides me? I am really hoping it will come by the end of next week, but waiting is killing me. From what I heard in my office it will take 2 months from 'testing and interview' until interview being scheduled. So that means even if it came today, I still have 4-5 weeks until the actual interview.

We just got the interview notice today which I'm really surprise it came so fast, after we went to an infopass in June the officer told us we might get the interview date maybe for October/November and well it actually came earlier, we were expecting to take a long time because we're in Miami.
The officer also advise us to get an infopass once a month if we don't received any updates on our case just to make sure everything is fine and to see how long it might take for the interview date. So I'm sure your interview notice might be coming any time soon and yeah my notice came today but we still have more than month away from it but I think is good because it helps you to get everything in order.

I do have a question for April filers: I received my work permit already, I was thinking to apply for my SSN this coming friday and then start looking for a job.
What would you recommend will be better, get my SSN now and look for a job or wait for the interview to do all that? i asked this because I'm going to try to get my last name change on my green card because I didn't used my husband last name to file the applications but I do want to use his lastname, so I don't know if is better to wait for the interview and get SSN and green card with same name??

Thanks for your help:goofy:

Gday,

I have received an email stating that EAD is in production however when I check online it has updated on employment applcn but not the travel one. My question is whether the EAD cards are all processed as combo ones?

I am an Aboriginal Australian who is travelling back to my community at the end of August and am sweating on my A/P arriving in time so I can travel home to tell my mob of my intentions face to face. I phoned the helpline but they just said my 90 day time limit is not up yet which is 29/7. Any clue is greatly appreciated.

April 25th: Mailed AOS package

April 26th: Received package

May 2nd: NOA's received

May 9th: Biometrics appointment notice for 3rd June

May 13th: Biometrics walk-in completed in Atlanta.

tassieman : When my EAD was approved the AP didn't had any updates, actually I already have my EAD with me and at the bottom it has the AP but on the website it still says is on Initial Review so I do believe when you received your EAD it should have the AP statement as well.

hey tashired, i think u should just try and get the license rather than the permit, if u know how to drive there is a driving school by oakland and near university where the dmv is and they offer a 30 min class for 80 and the car to do the test same day and they will give u a refresher of what to expect on the test! good luck to you, but once u r over 18, whats the sense in getting the permit if u know how to drive!

. Well, not really to make an infopass right now, specially if is far from home. Just wait a little bit maybe in august if nothing have change you can call and talk to an actual immigration officer and im sure they will be able to at least give you an estimate.

But once again, i was waiting for an october date, and it came earlier so im sure your's will be soon.
