What we were told is its illegal for the dmv to confiscate it at the time of getting a Californian (American) license, because the foreign license doubles as a foreign piece of ID. They said unless you're giving up citizenship to that country (which with a GC we are not) they do not have the authority to touch it.

In other news, Dave & I are 3/4 the way done with our binder but we had to stop. The 3 inch size binder is too small! We have to get another one for all the items we've saved/accumulated!

Hey guys, has anyone tried to leave and reenter the US with an EAD advance parole card? I'm thinking of going to Niagara Falls for my birthday on July 7th, but am scared they wont let me back in the USA. I know the card is authorization that I can leave the country while my paperwork is filing, but it also says its not guaranteed reentry.

Hello,

My husband and I filled our applications last week of april and we will like to share our experience.

Im the beneficiary, AOS from tourist visa based on marriage.

So far its been ok, I got my EAD approved sooner than i expected(we got a 1st email on june 26th saying it was approved and production order, but also received the same email on july1st, today we received the email thats been mailed but no tracking number so far) and can't wait to received it and start looking for a job, which I havent started yet because idk where to start oops8rh.gif .

We knew from the beginning our waiting period for the interview will be long but reading all your post it actually feels longer......we went to an Infopass and they said we might get a date by october....So the waiting is still on.

04/30/13 Received applications (I-131, I-485, I-765, I-130)

05/03/13 Notice Date

05/06/13 Biometrics Appointment Notice (for May 31st, 2013)

05/06/13 Walk-in biometrics complete (no questions asked)

06/00/13 Updated to Testing and Interview (cant remember the date, when i find it i will update it)

06/26/13 EAD approved (ordered card production)

07/01/13 2nd email EAD update (card production)

07/02/13 EAD updated (card has been mailed)

07/05/13 EAD arrived!

07/09/13 email update with date interview for August 14th, 2013!!!idea9dv.gif

So I found out if you move out of state prior to your interview... your interview will be cancelled and your case will be forwarded to your new jurisdiction. The wait begins again.....

You only have a week left before the interview, forget about your birthday celebrate it after your interview lol.
