SoundRs like a very romantic journey you guys have been on :-) I think you just know when it's the 'one'. I'v been here since the end of December 2011 on a tourist visa. Married on the 31st December 2012. Couldn't be happier!! Would just like to get this process out of the way so we can start living a normal life together :-) I look forward to the day that I don't have to think about all of this stuff.

We moved into our first home together at the end of February, and we have a Scottish neighbour. We are popping up all over the place, hehe!!

Holy heck! You've been out of status this entire time? Haven't you been going bonkers without being able to drive or work? Dave's been crawling the walls! He's been chomping at the bit in anticipation of getting his license next Friday. I am looking forward to not having to drive anymore.

We, too, can't wait for this process to be over. It's been very nerve-wrecking. Our visa journey is almost over. Then we start it all over again an a couple of years for ROC.

We have had an awesome journey! I wouldn't change a thing. I surprised Dave at our wedding with a bagpiper. It wasn't just any bagpiper. I got Ian Whitelaw! He plays the bagpipe for Groundskeeper Willie on The Simpsons. At first, Dave thought it was just a CD until Ian & I rounded the corner. My wedding march? Scotland the Brave! LOL

We've only been running into other Scots on VJ. We've yet to meet anyone else in person. Then again, we don't get out much. Once Dave's GC is in hand, we will definitely will feel the freedom to move about the cabin. Ha! Ha!

I didn't have to give up my UK license when I acquired an Arizona one a few years ago. However, when the UK license expires you may not be able to renew it if you don't still have a UK address. The forms required for renewal can only be sent out to a UK address. (I used my parents' address to renew anyway, since I think it's useful to keep both if possible).

Ah ha! Thanks, r7holybo! One more question, did you have to list your UK license on your drivers license app? Dave will be using his parents address as well when he has to renew.

It was 5 years ago, so I don't remember for sure, sorry! I don't think I had to mention the UK license at all - after all, I sat a 'full' Arizona theory test, then did the full practical test, so I didn't use the UK license for any shortcuts. In some states, I guess it could be used to remove new driver restrictions?

No worries. Thanks! I didn't think Dave had to list or mention his UK license but I wasn't sure. When we spoke to the individual at the DMV, she listed what he needed to bring and didn't mention his UK license at all. She did say that he could take his practical the day after his theory since there wasn't a time restriction.

Thanks again, r7holybo!

Okay, so I'm a bit confused. unsure.png You wrote that you've been here since the "end of December 2011" but got married December 31, 2012. See why I'm confused? Because 90 days puts your entry at February 2013 and 180 days would put your entry at November 2012. That's why completing your timeline helps with the clarity :)

To complete your timeline, click on your username in the top-right corner of the screen. Then select "My Timeline". It's a simple process of entering dates.

The timeline plays a big role here at VJ. It helps other members scope processing times. Also, BlueDevil uses our timelines to post an awesome spreadsheet for the March/April filers to see where we all are.

Very intimate wedding :) We had the wedding party of 2 as well. I liked it that way. It made it more intimate and the focus was on us, not Aunt so-and-so because she hated the hor dourves or uncle whatshisname because he got sloshed and hit on all the bridesmaids. LOL!

yes I hear ya on that one!! Or having to invite someone because you are inviting so and so!! ha!

I'm not sure what you mean about the 90 and 180 days....... but yes i entered the end of december 2011, and got 2 extensions after that, and it took me to may 2013. We got married 31st december 2013, but couldn't file until April because i was waiting on my husband's most recent tax return to include with our application..... Hope that leaves you less confused ;-)

Hello there fellow April filers. Sorry not being as active as before. Work has been extremely hectic lately and I haven't had a chance to keep up with all the updates. Besides, I'm trying to use the beautiful weather outdoors as a distraction from the wait :)

Lots of exciting updates lately with successful interview appointments and cards arriving in the mail. Congrats to everyone!

Here is an updated table as of 7/1/13...

Cheers!

Are they gonna send you a new EAD, or are they still trying to locate the original one usps has lost?

Similar situation happened to my friend but his green card was lost. They used help of their local post office manager to try find it. It was lost in sorting facility but later redirected to the original address.

I am sorry to hear that. I think that even if you applied for a new one it would probably be approved around the same time as your green card. Tough situation.
