I am wondering if calling the USCIS on I-485 case status will help me at all. Why I still haven't received updates on my case up to now I don't know. Even those from busier states have at least been moved to testing and interview after biometrics , 59 days after my biometrics and still no movement!!!

When you will get your EAD...if you have the photograph that was taken during biomentrics then you will be sure that your biomentics is already accepted.

But isn't it true they can only approve your EAD if biometrics have been cleared, they told me that my biometrics came back on April 22 the day I did them. I never got any RFE so what's the silence about, I know they are slammed but come on 1 person can't keep getting screwed up in any direction. Sorry I had to vent my frustrations , now let me go to work :) :)

Guys.....APPROVED in less than 10 minutes....kicking.gifyes.gifjest.gifkicking.gif

So we got there 15 minutes before apt (1:45pm). Went through security checks and was told by the to go to 2nd floor and place our notice in a box and have a seat.

There was a family of 4 there, apart from us. We waited for about 10 minutes and then was called. A courteous lady (not overly pleasant and not overly serious, just comfortable) came and got us. She led us to her office, told us to keep standing and then swore us in. She confirmed with us that the purpose was to adjust my status, she looked at our filed docs, ticked, asked us how did we meet, who made the decision to take the relationship to a more serious level and who propose. We answered, she said ok, asked us about the kids. She said we were lucky to have them grown and out the house. She said congratulations, as of today you are a legal permanent resident of the USA and gave me the approval letter. That was basically it. No weird questions at all. Oooh, she was almost apologizing that she wanted to give me the ten year but she wished it was down in December...oh well conditional is better than denial, that's how it is in my book......

I asked her about the stamp in the passport, she said she would give it if I was gonna be traveling within the next week. So I opted not to. In about 30 minutes the system was updated to approval decision. So next is card production and sit and relax until ROC saga!!!!! So those of you who thought you were getting rid of Caramel...no way...I'm here until.............wink.png

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Oooh...Emotionally, I was a silent wreck and it came out in ways that would gross you guys outohmy.pngtongue_ss.gif , so....i'll leave it at that. But it tapered off once we got there and I felt a little relaxed for some reason in the USCIS building.

Caramel, we are so happy for you! I was just mentioning to Dave that I was getting worried since I hadn't seen your post interview update. A big sigh of relief from us.

I just read your review as Dave is literally booking our hotel for our interview right now. We hope that our interview is as quick and painless as yours and imjustagirl's was.

Congratulations, ladies!

Ok, who's up next for their interview?

Okey here is our story:

This morning we went to SS Office. It took 5 min to get it done! No waiting nothing. I only filled out the form online and printed it out. I gave my EAD and passport with the application to the lady.and she gave me a receipt back and told I should get it within 7 day.

12.30 we got to the USCIS Office. After security we were told to wait at the same place we waited our Biometrics. About 12.50 they asked everybody who had interview at 1 to go and check in. There were 7 couples together. Then we had to go to the 2nd floor. We were in the elevator with one Ukrainian girl and her husband. we noticed that there were 2 different kind of ticket numbers: some started with "O" and some with "P". We had O and they had P. Last time i saw the time in TV it was 1.15. We were the 2nd couple who were called in (different IOs). Our IO was so nice and friendly. He sworn us in when we got in to the office. He asked from my husband how we met and then told our I-130 is approved. Then asked is this our address we had in the application and said approved again. He gave me the paper what we have to do in 2 years and gave me a book "Welcome to the US. A Guide for New Immigrants". Then we were just talking about his work and life in US. I asked about the stamp but he told me I only get it if I have to travel out of US in next couple of days. He told I should get my card 7-10 days. When we got to the car we saw that my card was ordered from the USCIS App. It was 1.30.

When we left the Ukrainian girl was sitting in the waiting room alone. So I guess they were interviewed separately. Maybe that's what the P tickets were... (not sure about that)

We had one BIG bag with us. We had the binder (about 200 pages) and 2 big photo albums in there. But all the other couples had only 1 small envelope or binder (10-20 pages in it) and maybe a photo album with them. But we didn't need anything from there :) Only 1 couple had a lawyer with them.

We wanted to go and apply for DL too today but in NC you need insurance first. We called to the insurance company and they told I need my SSN first. DMV told us to go to the insurance place tomorrow with the SS receipt and we should be fine. So we' ll see tomorrow.

So I think I'm the luckiest person in the world today. i feel like the king (queen) of the world luv.gif After sitting home 1.5 years I feel alive again!!!!

I hope you all gonna have interview as easy as ours. And thank you everybody for support and advice!!!! You are the best!!!!!rose.gifrose.gifrose.gif

Little bit before 6 today I received e-mail that I-130 is post decision activity and I-485 went back to decision (On June 20, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status.)

I'm so happy for you!!! And it's so nice to read that your interview was as easy as ours!!!

Congrats!!!!!!rose.gifrose.gifrose.gif

Timeline

But we didn't need anything from there smile.png Only 1 couple had a lawyer with them.

What a wonderful experience. So very happy for you guys. I'm going to wait until the GC gets here to do SS. I'm thinking by this time next week we should have the cards in hand.
