Have a question

Hi

can anyone help me with a question. I understand that in doing the k3 I need to fill out the required paperwork and I get that part. But there are things not listed in the guides that I have read people discussing, such as including pictures of being together, proof of meeting, etc. In which package am I supposed to include this and what am I exactly supposed to include? We have plenty of evidence, but I am becoming confused here. I feel like I will do something wrong and delay or mess up our process. And one more thing that kind of pertains to the mid-east section or at least I am mostly interested in your answers... I heard that if a persons case is unique, they should explain it. Where and when?! Do I explain it on a separate piece of paper or where??

Can someone provide me a very simple summary of the k3 process. Like, what is going on in each step? At what point does the DOS become involved? I want to understand ...if we get approved...that means what? Because I know that they do the security checks after the interview...so what is approved when they say that??? :help:

have you seen the guides at the top of the VJ home page?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k3guide

and this flowchart

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k3flow

This will help you answer a lot of your questions. I agree with you that it is imortant to make sure your petition is as well put together as possbile to address the specific and unique nature fo your relationship. This will save you time later.

There are many people here from all over the Middle East. EAch consulate is different and it is best to talk to someone who has gone through the same consualte as you will and even specifically someone who has done the K-3 with that consulate. It's early this morning, but I amsure many people will be along anytme nwo to help with more answers.

Good luck on yoru journey (F)

DOS, in my experience with K-3, gets involved after the interview, when the consulate sends the case to DOS for the security checks. Basically, that means you are approved for the visa pending the security check i.e administrative review or administrative processing.

We filed the K-1 without the help of VJ. I sent all of our evidence of meeting and proof of relationship with the K-1 - roughly a dozen pictures of us together, with my family and with his family, screenshots of our email inboxes over the 4 year period of our online courtship, plane tickets and iteneraries and photocopies of cards we sent each other. The only extra evidence my husband brought to his interview was a profesional picture we took a few weeks before the interview.

Had I actually read on VJ and not just signed up, I would have had him bring more supporting evidence to the interview. I believe Cairo is pretty good about taking the extra evidence, as opposed to some in Casa who refuse to even look at it.

I sure understand your confusion. I filed the the K-3 and didn't send in any photos or any other evidence except my marriage certificate. It was approved 2 months 8 days later from the day I sent it in. When I got the approval I was so excited and didn't know what it meant  I found that you will get some very great direction but make sure it is someone from the country you are going through as that is what I do since they know how each step works with that country as it differs.

Make sure you check the dates of the forms and make sure they are current and that you have translations.

Sorry I know this was not much help but I can always help give moral support.
